Not necessarily. Depending on the size and location of the leak, replacing a shingle or two might be all it takes to fix the problem. If you choose shingle replacement as a solution, it’s important to have a professional inspection to verify the decking isn’t damaged. Replacing shingles over compromised decking will only create larger issues in the future. When dealing with an older roof, you might find that one leak will turn into many over time. If that’s the case, it might be time to consider replacing the entire roof.
