Not well maintained. During the summer the vegetation is dense enough that you will be rubbing your legs through weeds and your face through spider webs for the entire hike. A couple spots with so many fallen trees that you have to detour off the trail. Do not recommend going if it has rained in the past few days as it gets very muddy. Poor signage. The only upside is that there is few people; and I can see why.

Yeah, a lot of them. There are more along the Short Loop than the Long Loop, and there are several marked if you use All Trails. You don't have to register or pay for any of them, for up to two weeks. They can't be reserved, so it's first come first serve, but I've never had trouble finding an open one that's good for either hammocks or tents.
There is two camp sites right by wildcat we just stayed at that has water and electricity. 20 a night. Bour oak I believe right by the lake very nice!
It's the woods, so there's wildlife. There's always a chance of running into a bear or wildcat. But I've never seen one.
