Ohmygoodness. I am not good with leaving negative reviews: however, I am extremely surprised this hotel has the Hilton brand. The one star is for the staff friendliness. Other than that, one elevator was out of operation for my entire week stay. The only remaining elevator was filthy. My room walls had not been cleaned in years. The furniture fabric torn and hanging off from the couch and bed frame. The corners of the shower were packed with dust, dirt, and grime. The face towels were fresh and new with Holiday Inn tags - this simply made me giggle. My coworkers room had the same issues plus smelled of old cigarette smoke. The amenities were dirty and quite lacking according to my experience. I travel every week, am a Hilton Honors member, so again I am stunned this hotel (Homewood Suites by Hilton) has the Hilton brand attached to the property.

The kitchen in the room was absolutely disgusting! The rest of the room was ok, but the reason why I spent 50% more on the room at Homewood Suites in Richmond Airport was for the fact that there was a kitchen. Some of the worst things include 1) The utensils tray was filthy!! There was little bits of crud all over and there were no utensil, save two PLASTIC knives. All of the others were in the dishwasher (which smelled funny like it was not unloaded in days) 2) The only cooking utensil I was given was a turner/spatula which was extremely warped (i.e. turning end was curved beyond usability). 3) There was only one large pot and one smaller pot, no frying pan! I found this out late on the first night and I was very hungry to cook, so I literally went out and bought a frying pan to use! 4) of the two electric burners, which was VERY old and looked like a fire-hazzard, one I was using actually came off the electrical socket inside the unit. The coil, which was red-hot just fell into the burner well. I brought all of this to the attention of the management, who did nothing but just gave me the items I said was missing. I'm not one to complain a lot, but if there was EVER a time I thought I was due some financial compensation, it was during this stay!! I could have stayed in other hotels (Hilton Garden Inn was close by) at the rate of $96/night , but chose this place for $152/night because of the kitchen. Absolutely no doubt, I would NOT have chosen to do that if I had known how filthy the kitchen was. Note: They NEVER cleaned my room even after I complained - just gave me the stuff and left the room dirty!

I love coming here getting their jacuzzi suite! Absolutely peaceful and relaxing. Full refrigerator with freezer and stove top in kitchen with pots, plates, glasses, cooking utensils as well as eating utensils. I love T come here to get away whether it be a weekend or a week

Convenient to the airport, but could use a refresh. The staff was helpful and professional, but did not explain up front that housekeeping was only available for limited hours. The breakfast was fine; their coffee was actually quite good. The airport noise is apparent, but planes don't land overnight, so did not interrupt our sleep.

I have stayed there many times and have never had any issues.
It's warm enough to swim in the winter. Just make sure it's clean. That was my only problem there. The pool and the hot tub were both dirty....
There is a Mexican restaurant in the parking lot, Applebees, Olive Garden and Panera a couple of miles away and several good local places within a couple of miles
I have been staying there for 6 years. It was recently renovated though and my room was nice when I stayed there in August
