We have been bringing our children here for many years as Dr Mamiko is wonderful and excellent at communicating and teaching my kids about tooth health. She and the hygienists make their visits very fun and my kids look forward to them. Sadly, the newer receptionist at the check in desk was unfriendly and had a negative tone both in person (when I was there at the most recent visit) and on the phone on more then one occasion when I called. She made me feel uncomfortable and I didn’t appreciate her attitude. Due to these poor experiences with her I do not recommend this office.

My children are 6, almost 4 and almost 2 years old and they love going to the dentist! They are always able to accommodate all three appointments in one day so we can all go at once! Once there, the check in process is smooth and well organized! The facility is clean making us feel safe. Even through the pandemic, when the dentists, hygienists, and assistants are fully masked up with face shields the children remain comfortable and at ease. I believe it’s because they are thoughtful in the way they speak to the children. They introduce themselves by pointing out their ID badges that shows what they look like without masks. As they children are escorted in, they are given the choice to enter through the regular sized door or the small door which is perfect for their size! As a parent, I know that this small detail can make the difference for the children. I know for mine —they really feel that this doctor office is made for them! It’s something so simple but so very special for the children. The dental staff are enthusiastic throughout the appointment and talk through the process with the children. I feel this makes them feel safe and helps the children understand what to expect next. They let the children make choices (toothpaste flavor, toothbrush color, type of sticker, etc) whenever they can which is huge for my children. They are very friendly and can handle the shyest kids to the most energetic ones! They are patient when there is the slightest hesitation from the children and adjust to other styles to engage the children but still with respect. X-rays are the most challenging for one with a sensitive gag reflect but with their kind encouragement my daughter kept trying and practicing each visit until she was able to get through it! I appreciate the thorough review for each of my child’s health, nutrition, etc. They share great information about dental health (like how tongue tie in babies can impact so many things) that I probably wouldn’t have ever known and give a lot of encouragement (without ever making you feel bad) to keep on top of things, especially flossing. Luckily my kids enjoy flossing, but I think it’s because they’ve also made it fun for the kids to do! “Pop wiggle wiggle pop”. They are great teachers and the kids have enjoyed brushing and flossing the stuffies they have at the clinic. The appointment ends with great reward for the kids— their name on the “no cavity board”, passport cards that help the kids look forward to the next visit and a little toy token! I know that many dread going to the dentist but for us, this notion has changed since going to Ballard Pediatric Dentristy! My children really look forward going for their dental visits and it’s honestly so inspiring and amazing! I am so grateful to Dr. Mamiko and her staff!

Our kids have been to multiple dentists -Madrona, West Seattle, Mercer Island, Central District, and we are so glad that we have found a place that our family is happy with. We have been with Ballard Pediatric Dentistry for over 3 years now. Our kids are excited to go see the dentist. The doctors are professional, staff are friendly, the office is clean. The recommendations from the dentists are on point (recommended my son to see orthodontist vs another clinic recommended tooth extraction). We drive from Seattle to Ballard to see them. Can't recommend them enough!

Not a fan of this practice. Everyone we saw had pretty terrible bedside manner with kids. In addition they recommended a procedure for my child that was invasive and unnecessary without offering any alternatives. 2 second opinions by different dentists disagreed with their approach/recommendation and offered different treatment options.

Hi Andrew! Great question. There is a parking garage just around the corner on 56th street with free retail parking, as well as free street parking in front of the building and in the surrounding neighborhood. We hope to see you soon!
