Dr. P is someone I will never forget about in life. I’ve learned more in one sitting with him than I have in any doctors office visit. He is very personable and thorough with his explanations, and also willing to explain things in a relatable way. We talked about the issues detected from my bloodwork, how the different body systems play a role in what’s going on, and what the game plan is to effectively tackle the problems. This was such an enlightening and informational meeting that I forgot to take notes but can still recall most of what he said since I’ve been looking for answers for almost two years. Dr. P is a healer and a teacher, and I’ve always admired people like this and strive to become these things myself in life. Amari Health is giving me my life back!

Aside for laboratory testing, Insurance does not pay for Functional & Integrative Medicine. Insurance only pays for crisis care.
Medicaid insurance does not pay for proactive holistic care. It will only pay for drugs and procedures. Therefore Medicaid will not pay for functional & integrative medicine.
We typically do not treat children under the age of 25. We've found that our members that are the most successful in reversing their health condition are independant and in full control of their lifestyle and nutrition. When parents invest in treatment on behalf of their child, the child usually fails.
Yes, both FSA and HSA accounts are accepted.
Functional & Integrative Medicine is tailored to each individual, their symptoms, and their lifestyle. Because it is specific to each individual, and because your goals may be diferrent, it is very difficult to give a range. Yes, insurance will pay for the most common tests that we run. We do have access to specialized stool, saliva, urine, and food sensitivity testing that may not be convered. These specialized tests are not always necessary.
Insurance does not pay for prevention, or pro-active care in our country. And therefore, it will not pay for Functional & Integrative Medicine. Is it affordable? We work with people of all walks of life - people on fixed income, single parents, retirees - we will work with members the best we can to accomodate their budget. As long as you are committed to improving your health, we will do our best to help you.
Functional & Integrative Medicine is very similar in concept to Holistic Medicine. Both types of medicine look at the entire body, when evaluation and treating symptoms. The one major different is that in New York State, a Functional & Integrative Medicine Doctor can order appropriate medical testing that can help to identify the root cause of your symptoms. This allows for better targeting of treatment, and therefore, faster results.

Amari Health is Westchester County's most experienced Functional & Integrative Medicine centers. Shah, M.D, has been practicing medicine in New York for over 50 years. Functional & Integrative Medicine is a whole-body, proactive, approach to addressing the root cause of your symptoms. Rather than just covering up your symptoms with drugs and procedures, our medical doctor finds and treats the WHY behind your symptoms. It has similarities to Holistic Medicine, or Naturopathic Medicine.
We do not recommend the use of frozen meals. Rather, we encourage you to eat fresh vegetables, fats, and proteins that you purchase at your local grocery store. These items can be purchased frozen, but we do not as a processed meal.
