We needed some rocks to rebuild a little fountain/pond in our yard. I ordered and paid for a yard of rocks, my contractor went to pick them up -- but he could only fit half a yard in his truck. He was told he had to come back the SAME DAY to pick up the rest, but since it was late they "allowed" him to come first thing the next morning. Gee how generous. As it it turned out, we only needed the half a yard -- even then we had a lot left over. When I called for a refund on the other 1/2 -- which we never picked up -- it was a resounding NO. The policy is written on the receipt. Fine -- except once again, the stones NEVER LEFT THE SITE! When I asked of we could a credit to buy some other rocks -- NO. When I asked if we could pick the rest up -- NO, it HAD to be the same day. I guess I should have fallen on my knees to thank them for veering from their precious policies by allowing my guy to come the next day. These thieves may have decent prices, and perhaps know what they are doing -- but their customer service is ATROCIOUS. Never again will I deal with these scoundrels.

This place is dope. I've been here while working with two different landscaping companies over the past 5 years. The staff are always cool, knowledgable, understanding, and overall easy to talk to.

Cannot recommend Dirt Exchange enough. Not only is the product absolutely gorgeous - cannot wait to do my spring planting - everyone I’ve spoken to has been so kind and patient and accommodating. We had to reschedule our delivery last minute due to a stomach bug in our house, and they were so nice about it. Sean made our delivery so enjoyable. He was there right when they said he would be, and even helped me by unpacking a tarp I hadn’t prepared and laying it out for me to put the soil on over gravel so I could hold my 18 month old. I will be recommending Dirt Exchange to everyone I know in their delivery zone. Exceptional product and customer experience!

Dirt Exchange is your place to go for dirt and gravel for any project. They deliver or have the ability to pickup, and have huge trucks coming in and out all the time. Close to the Ballard bridge, it's entrance is on the dirt and gravel side and not on the other side of the wall. The staff here is super friendly and helpful, especially if you don't know anything about it.

Probably the Vegetable Garden Mix...it drains really well and is extremely fertile. -Tristan Heberlein, Solstice Landscape Design
If you are just doing new grass you can just remove weeds and old sod and maybe a little soil if you want to incorporate some new compost into the area. If the area is for plants, then you will want to use 3 to 4 inches of compost. You qill have to pay to recycle any dirt and weeds.
