Beware of this company !!!!! The original charge amount was $273.74 Beginning on 5/19/2022 Stericycle Shred-it charged our bank account 5 extras times for a grand total of $1368.70. We called them once we noticed all the extra charges and Shred-it said it would take 2 weeks to credit our bank account. It is now 7/8/2022 & still no credits !!!!!!!!

Awful awful service. Never shows up on scheduled days. It is impossible to get a call back. We went weeks with an overflow of documents with highly sensitive personal information hanging out of our bins. Do not use this company. There are other options out there who actually care about their customers.

Watch out for the “extra” fees they don’t tell you about. They quote a price and then add a fuel surcharge but don’t tell you. They also charge a “recycle” fee that is 15% of the quoted price but don’t tell you. I had shredding done but two separate companies on the same day, different locations. Shred It was TWICE as expensive for half the shredding.

My client has a contract with them. We started a big paperwork clean up and the trash can was full but not taken away, so I asked the client if we could switch to another company that I know and like a lot? She forwarded me the contract and authorized me to switch. Unfortunately, the client wasn't paying attention to the fact that this is a 5 (FIVE) year contract. She's one year in only, so she's stuck with them for 4 more years, or give them $1500 as a buy out. I object. Is a 5 year contract for professional services even legal? If so, I want to bring it to the attention of our consumer protection agency. Shred-it comes out every other month for $75, on the day they are scheduled, or you pay again. I imagine there were months where they picked up nothing. I'm using boxes temporarily because I'll be darned if the client will pay them another dime from what she is "required" to pay. The company I want to replace them with is "confidential" comes monthly, $25/month, and would let an unhappy customer out of any contract. I couldn't be more unhappy and recommend you not sign their 5 year contract.
