Convenient location for flight training and nice little playground with a view

We have been visiting since my boys were babies. There is a restaurant and a beautiful playground where children can watch the planes land and take off. Anytime we get lucky and meet a pilot there, they talk with my sons and answer their rapid fire questions.

Planes go brrrr
Nomaan Memon
The noise level from planes leaving this airport is a major nuisance - any time of day or night. Has become worse in 2022. Unbearable to live in the Chamblee-Brookhaven area.

Private ones...there is no scheduled service
Yes all the time. Look up Jetlinx Aviation or even look into Wheels Up.
Sure, in the general areas which are open to the public and spectators, but if you're interested in being near airplanes, you can inquire at Epps Aviation, one of the schools or Cirrus Aviation.
You could possibly get that flight. But PDK is where you go for flight training for private and commercial ratings. There are no commercial air lines there. So you would be renting a jet. Not cheap.
You can park by the terminal where u board.

Whoa... I have never met an actual Messerschmitt before! So cool. His answer was good too. I live near the airport. I love aviation so I love the planes going over and I spend a lot of time at the airport too. They have a playground there I take my kids to and 2 restaurants. Planes go over at all hours. Heaviest traffic times are what you would expect. Daylight hours. The control tower does close at 9 pm every night I believe but planes can still takeoff and land through the night. They don't bother me at all though and I live pretty close! If you are thinking of moving into the area and think that it might bother you just don't move here. I am sick of people on nextdoor.com complaining about the airfield that's been here since WW2 like it's a newly emerged nuisance. It's a great asset to the community in general and to me a vital part of the area. The noise is nothing like a big commercial airport. Jets that come in are smaller twin engine private jets.
