Amazing place to learn about Oyster production.

My husband and I have bought several batches of larvae and all have resulted in great sets. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Ferry Cove Oyster Hatchery has quickly mastered and is seeing great success in using Industrial Plankton's algae bioreactors to produce multiple species of algae to feed their oyster larvae and seed in the lower salinity waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Being able to provide a nutrient rich algal diet is critical to producing high quality larvae. Keep up the great work!

Yes, eyed larvae is Ferry Cove Shellfish’s primary product. We offer a variety of Eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) broodstock to meet growers needs including wild stocks, triploids and disease resistant / selected lines. Call us or see this link for ordering details: https://www.ferrycove.org/order-now/
No. We only sell larvae, seed and spat on shell to commercial shellfish growers who in turn will grow the oyster to market size which can take 18 months to 3 years depending on stock.
While we would like to provide public tours of the hatchery, only private, by appointment tours are being accommodated at this time. Please email us with your request and include your name, phone number and email. We cannot promise that we can fulfill all requests given we are in our production season but we will do our best. Thank you for understanding.
