When there is significant dermatochalsis in the upper eyelids, it makes patients a great candidate for an upper blepharoplasty procedure. When there's extensive puffiness and fatty eye bags in the lower lids, it makes patients an excellent candidate for lower lid surgery. Many patients perform both upper and lower lid eyelid surgery simultaneously, which allows one anesthesia with one recovery period. Anticipate two weeks of visible bruising and swelling after the procedure. Eyelid surgery takes approximately one hour.
