When my mother lived at Linden House, one of the workers at the facility stole all of her jewelry, including her wedding rings. We knew which worker it was, as our mother saw her coming out of her bedroom, but because she denied it, she was never held responsible. It was a heartbreaking experience, and we were very happy to move our mother out of there.

Please be aware that the two glowing reviews you see here were written by *employees when they were employed* but not identified as such. This is a huge conflict of interest and these phony reviews should be ignored entirely. Shame on the owner if he solicited these staff to mislead potential residents and their families.

Hello - The Gardens is our Memory Care neighborhood, which has 24 private rooms. Each nursing assistant is assigned up to 8 residents, and they are assisted with the support of full time Activity Staff, housekeeping, culinary aides and the Memory Care Manager. The rate of pay for our staff varies based on experience and roles, and is comparable to the local pay scales. In addition to the required training for each role and certification or license, our Memory Care Staff participate in a personalized "Positive Approach to Care" training by a qualified Independent Trainer, and are provided with on the job coaching and training on an on-going basis.
Activities are scheduled daily and range from fitness classes, yoga, social gatherings, cognitive games, life-long learning opportunities, gardening, crafts and needlework groups, and regularly scheduled outings. We have full-time Activity Staff in both Assisted Living and in Memory Care to help support our residents to "Live Life to the Fullest"!
We offer restaurant-style dining at Linden House so that our residents can select from entrees from a daily menu, and also offer an "always available" menu.
Medicare does not participate in Assisted Living payments, however it does often pay for the outpatient rehabilitation that is offered. It does not pay for Assisted Living "room and board".
Our monthly rates start at $4,575 and vary based on the size and location of the apartment selected. We offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
Our licensed capacity is for up to 94 residents. We offer 5 levels of care - Independent and levels 1-4 based on assessed need.
All residents select their own personal physician. Some of those physicians may make house-calls and are welcome to use our on-site clinic. We also work with the UVA Medical Center Geriatric Physicians and have home visits scheduled here with the geriatric nurse practitioner for those residents who elect to be followed by one of those geriatricians.
We opened with 36 caregivers for all three shifts, including nursing assistants and nurses. This number, though, will constantly change as we add staff based on the number of residents we have and the care needs of our residents. This number does not include administrative and support staff.
