DaVita Central Tacoma is slowly losing my 5 star rating with them. I feel I am getting the run around. You see I am currently using a walker and they freakin mixed my walker up with another dialysis patient's. I've been trying to get help with this situation and no one seems to be helping me VERY FRUSTRATED

Will visiting this Tacoma location I encountered an elderly woman named Sue in the elevator. It was clear that she worked here so I greeted her and asked if she knew where the restroom was on the first floor? She replied there was no bathroom. So I rode back to the 2nd floor as there are only 2 floors. I then asked her if she knew where the restroom was located on this floor. She looked me up and down and replied in the most condescending and irritated tone that "there is no bathroom on this floor, maybe go back to where you came from and ask them there." She then promptly exited the elevator which she filled with the most obnoxious smell of cigarettes and walked away. 30 seconds later I asked the receptionist working at Labcorp(in the suite next door), who assured me that the shrew of a lady I was speaking to and I were simply a right turn and 40 feet away from the public restroom. Absurd. I of course spoke with the sweet Facility Administrator Ashley who apologized and promised to speak with her. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done. As a Provider and Community Health Worker I am aware of the importance of humility and respect when dealing with the communities that you serve and human beings in general. Discrimination biases have no place in a workplace where you are dealing with any human interactions but Sue made sure her disdain for my kind was apparent. She projected a lack of integrity and professionalism and as such I could not see myself trusting her or those like her with my care. In addition to working in this community I am also a referring Provider for the Tacoma/Pierce County community. A Provider who now will vow to never refer a client of mine to this DaVita Dialysis Center. The treatment that I received was inexcusable and a poor example of the Health Equity and Social justice educations that I am sure DaVita provides to its staff.
