Have had a great time living here for the last three years. And was the next unit neighbor to one of the reviewers and saw the mess that was left when they moved out.

BEWARE! My parents lived here for four (4) years. They were impeccably clean and took pride in their unit; they transformed both front and back yards into an oasis of beautiful flowers. They were known throughout the facility for their kindness and helpfulness. They recently moved to be closer to us. They received a bill from Highlands for $535 deducted from their deposit. This is an outrage! My parents, when they moved in, could have insisted the carpet be removed and replaced after the prior tenant. Highlands asked my parents if the carpet was acceptable. My parents were nice enough to accept the carpet as it had little wear. Now MY parents are having to foot the bill for carpet reburshing. Further, they were charged $30/hour for “cleaning” for 8 hours of cleaning. My mother and her friend left the place in excellent condition when they turned the residence over. They were charged $95 for “sticky stuff” on a bathroom door. This was residue from command strips which Highlands staff said they could use. Shame on you Highlands. It is bad enough you are now charging $2100 per month but now these kinds of shenanigans? Are you kidding? The staff may appear kind, but caution! They are influenced by corporate cut throats!

It's a very nice community. Lived here 6+ years and almost still considered a newby. An active waiting list. Come check it out!

To Highlands or of the property?
Yes, the units have kitchens.
There are if you are a private contractor. This is just a senior living complex but often people are seeking help. You could ask management you may be able put up a card. The complex directly east is called willow gardens. There are many more opportunities there. Again as a private contractor. If you ask management (Caroline ) she should be able to put your name on an availability list. Behind it is an assisted living place that employs caregivers. Good luck! People need you. It is just hard to get people together.
