My father Frank was only in assisted living at The Montebello on Academy for six weeks before he passed away. While he was at The Montebello, he received great care. The staff was so caring and attentive to his needs and several of the care givers developed a meaningful relationship with him in a very short period. When the end was near my dad’s comfort was a priority for the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the transportation drivers were professional and genuinely concerned with my father and the care givers were amazing. My family and I feel blessed that we were able to have dad at The Montebello and that we were able to get to know such a wonderful and caring group of people. Mark Iske

My father stayed in assisted living for a few weeks and his care was excellent. The staff is attentive and friendly and helped him feel comfortable. The Ageility exercise program is great.

I can’t express enough how much I love working at The Montebello! I absolutely love my job and I am thankful every day that I was chosen to be a part of The Montebello team. Over the last two years, I have had such amazing opportunities to learn and grow within the community. I get to go into work every day and have the most fun with our residents! Weather, it’s our special activity events, parties or chitchatting in the hallway we have an amazing time every time! It is my honor to be a part of our residents lives everyday❤️

I have lived at Montebello a little over a year. I enjoy living here and I felt that this was my home from day one. The various activities are great and there is always something to do. I especially enjoy the exercise classes. I find food choices to be good. Montebello is well managed and employees are the best. I'm happy that I chose to live here.

We hear this concern from seniors often. Sorting through and packing up a lifetime of memories and belongings can be overwhelming. One resource we like to share with families is a group of professionals called Senior Move Managers. They are experts at handling all of the details of a later life move. You can find one near your home by visiting the National Association of Senior Move Managers or Certified Relocation & Transition Specialist.
If you want to send mail to a resident you can simply send it addressed to their name, then: c/o The Montebello on Academy 10500 Academy Rd NE Albuquerque, NM 87111
Depends on how many rooms and location. A one bedroom with a view of the mountains can be $3k
Good question! Embarking on a new chapter in life doesn’t mean old friends have to be left behind. Assisted living communities offer a wide range of programs and events residents can invite guests to participate in. And they also offer transportation services so your dad can attend events in and around town with his old buddies. Fortunately, there are other ways your father can stay in touch. Social media channels like Facebook or a video chat service such as Skype are two easy avenues for staying connected.
This sometimes happen when it actually comes time to make the move. Your mom is probably anxious and a little uncertain. A late life transition like this isn’t easy to make. What might help is to get her involved in some of the events and activities at the new community now, instead of waiting until she actually moves in. Talk with the staff to see about helping her find a buddy with similar interests and hobbies that she can bond with during her visits. Becoming more familiar with the community and with a few fellow residents can help make the move feel a little less intimidating.
I am the Executive Director and would like to speak with you as it is our goal to provide a positive working environment for all our team members. Please contact me at the community at your earliest convenience.
Those of us who have experienced the impact of COVID-19 on residents, clients, families and colleagues think of individuals and not just numbers. That is why we have been, and remain, committed to safeguarding our residents and team members. While we continue to adjust our policies as conditions dictate, our first consideration is always the well-being of our entire community. We continue to diligently enforce infection prevention protocols, utilize personal protective equipment, and have made the decision that all team members who work in our communities must be fully vaccinated. I am the Executive Director and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you in detail about all we are doing to continue to keep the community safe. Please contact me at your convenience.
