I have had Dr Saam as my podiatrist for a number of years now. She is the podiatrist who uncovered the issues in my ankle had to do with arthritis when others had dismissed the possibility, and she has been very open and professional in her approach to doing what we can to keep me running. Highly recommend.

Dr.Midori Higashi is my to go Podiatrist. She diagnoses things really well, explains us the condition so we understand, is ready to answer any questions, and provides the best possible treatment/suggestion. And she is kind and humble!

Dr Higashi took the time to patiently explain what was going on with my Achilles. She addressed multiple concerns and provided her undivided attention taking approximately one hour with me. I had a question the day after my appointment and she phoned me back herself to address my concern. This sort of attention is appreciated, and somewhat rare. I traveled three hours to see Dr Higashi because I was in extreme pain. She saw me the same day I called and provided the relief and treatment that I would have had to wait four weeks for in my hometown. Her extensive research and experience regarding Achilles was apparent as she prescribed the protocol for healing. I am grateful.

If you have experienced numbness or tingling in your feet, you may have “peripheral neuropathy”, or reduced sensation in your feet. You should not be trimming your own toenails and calluses, which can damage surrounding skin and lead to infection. Most routine foot care is covered by your insurance to be done by a podiatrist if you have neuropathy.
Generally speaking, you should see a podiatrist if pain and other symptoms of heel pain persist for an ongoing period. Symptoms include, but are not limited to increasing pain, swelling, redness, irritation, sensitivity to pressure, and warmth.
The goal of orthotic therapy is to control abnormal foot mechanics which can lead to overuse injuries such as plantar fasciitis and tendonitis, as well as structural deformities such as bunions or hammertoes.
