This is one of the most common questions people ask about CoolSculpting. Once the fat cells have crystallized and died, they are picked up and removed by the body, never to be seen or heard from again. If your weight changes dramatically, the remaining fat cells will fill and increase in size as they normally would, but there will be fewer of them. The CoolSculpting procedure results in permanent removal of fat cells in the treated area!

Typically, your CoolSculpting results can begin to show around 8-weeks post treatment. However, we’ve started to notice that our clients are seeing faster results (and more dramatic) with the new CoolSculpting Elite applicators! The research has shown that the maximum benefit can possibly be reached near the twelve-week mark but don’t hold your breath. It will likely be sooner than that!

This depends entirely on the volume or bulk in the area to be treated. If there is more fatty tissue, we may recommend a second round of treatments. But for most people who are within 10-30 pounds of their ideal weight, a single round of treatments is sufficient. Once the fat cells are gone, they don’t come back!

That all depends on the area and how many treatments you need. There are 5 different sized applicators, each of which has a different price. During your consultation, we will look at the areas you’d like to treat and determine which applicators will work best, based on the volume and location. Then, we’ll work with you to come up with a plan that fits your needs and your budget!

After nearly 10,000 CoolSculpting treatments, we’ve seen plenty of incredible results! This is one of the primary reasons CoolSculpting is still as popular as it is - because it absolutely works. Your body does a great job of removing the crystallized fat cells after your CoolSculpting treatment. Cells known as macrophages will clean up the dead fat cells and transport them to your liver where they are slowly and gently filtered out of the body. You won’t notice a thing - your liver is well equipped to handle the job. All you have to do is sit back and wait for the results to appear!

As with any aesthetic procedure, the list of possible side effects can seem overwhelming at first. Based on our clinical experience, the most common side effects from CoolSculpting include soreness and tenderness in the treated area for a few days following the procedure followed by a numb sensation for several weeks to follow. With the new CoolSculpting Elite applicators, we generally don’t see any bruising or discoloration in the treated area. The side effects are typically very mild and should not interfere with your normal life.

Absolutely! Besides a little mild discomfort, you should not feel any pain after your CoolSculpting procedure and can go about your normal daily life. Once the tenderness resolves after the first few days, you’ll feel a little numb, but this won’t prevent you from doing whatever you want, including working out!

The newer CoolSculpting applicators are very comfortable and don’t cause any pinching, pulling, or tugging like the older applicators did. The newest CoolSculpting Elite applicators are even more comfortable (and efficient) and our clients are reporting a significant improvement in any post-treatment discomfort which is a win-win!

CoolSculpting is approved for 9 general treatment areas including the chin, back, love handles, inner thighs, outer thighs, abdomen and knee area. Because there are 5 different sized CoolSculpting applicators, we are able to customize which ones to use on which body parts. This means we can treat a variety of areas on the body!
