Likely the finest experience I ever had with a physician. The staff was exceptional and the quintessential definition of professionalism. But the ophthalmologist was legendary taking his time to methodically and brilliantly explaining my condition and future prevention of escalating my diagnosis. I would give you 10 stars if permitted.

Right before our yearly summer vacation to Crescent Beach, my right eye started bothering me. After suffering from redness, sensitivity to light, and my eye constantly watering for a couple of days, I could no longer ignore the problem. I googled an eye doctor near me. The first hit on Google was St. Augustine Vision Center. I called and the receptionist was luckily able to get me in that afternoon. I had to wait a bit but that could be expected since they fit me into their busy schedule. I was examined by Dr. Fred Miles. He had quite the quirky personality and made me feel like I had been a patient of his for years. He found a small foreign object in my cornea. He expertly removed the foreign object (without any pain) then showed it to me under his microscope. He then gave me a few pairs of complementary contact lenses to wear while my eye healed (he also prescribed some drops for me). Last but not least, he introduced me to transition contact lenses, which I had not heard of previously. He provided me with a free sample of these. Although I have not tried the transition lenses yet, the drops that he prescribed have helped me tremendously. I’m so thankful to the staff and Dr. Miles for helping me out in a time of need so that I could enjoy the rest of my vacation!

Wow! I am traveling around the country in my RV and forgot to plan to buy new contacts. Nobody stocked my lenses and I wasn’t going to be in the same spot for too long to wait for them to be ordered. I called this place and the girl who answered was so friendly and polite and offered to give me a few trials of a comparable brand with the same RX for free! She saved me! This is obviously a place who cares about people, not just their own clients.
