If you have problems with a judge or commissioner of family court ex. Max covil file a complaint with the judicial misconduct office. It's free .they will probably do nothing because they have no interest or benefit from reprimanding a judges misconduct or unlawful order but do it anyway and file appeals and blank pleadings stating your issues ask gim to remove himself.. and if anything file a civil complaint lawsuit against Arizona for allowing damages done by them.I was recently was told they are 7months behind on misconduct complaints Wich shows the serious lack of oversight when these judges are not fair or ethical. My judge max covil has completely disregarded what family court stands for allowing my daughter's mother to refuse my parent time and almost everything else family court tells parents not to do.. repeatedly! anything but honorable.. another commissioner Shelley made a ruling in the 6th parent enforcement petition that mom wasn't in contempt when she obviously was based on not even listening to a word I said or reading anything I filed just like max covil meanwhile I've not seen or had contact with my daughter's since may.. this has been going on almost two years I've documented everything and max covil ignores and denys anything onfile. Not to be mention his first ruling is against AZ law there needs to be more oversight on these people they are affecting people. Accountability for their failure to do their job properly Update Note May 17 22 Filed a lawsuit against Arizona for the damages

If he has had no contact for over 2 years you can petition to have his rights removed. That means he's made ZERO effort. Not even phone calls to you asking about him.

No you do not. However, I highly recommend that you get legal advice from one even if you can't afford to hire a lawyer. Family Court is complicated.

Yes, this is where you can file for child custody. I recommend you file quickly BEFORE he leaves the state though. File for an emergency temporary order, you will be required to file for custody as well, but can do both same day. They can help you in the law library.

Is this the court you go to for divorce hearings

Timothy Henley | Nov 6, 2018
Bea Wilder | Nov 5, 2020

It depends on where the original petition was filed. There are other courts in the Phoenix Metro Area. you can file for a divorce at any of them, but then your future hearings will be at that location.
