Called to get my water temporarily shut off to fix a water leak. I was told my SSN is not on file. So long story short I was asked for the PIN to unlock my credit history with experian. What would be the point of doing credit freezes if people give their pins to random people. If this is a Tacoma utility policy, they have some serious security issues. Also not sure why I would need a second verification to have a temporary water shut off to fix a leak.

I had some concerns about the water quality of our home. I was worried about the pipes, the area and the ground. I sent a brief e-mail to the City of Puyallup, and they in turn contacted the City of Tacoma, where my home evidently is in that water district. I am so super impressed with Jeremy Banks of the City of Tacoma Water, he went above and beyond the duty of ANY public official I have ever been in contact with. Actually, he had already been out to my home and had identified, checked the water, the land, and called me before I even responded to his first phone call! He explained how the water and pipes worked, how to check the water pressure inside the home and how to help fix it. He had seriously ALREADY been out and checked the water purity, without a bunch of paper pushing and requests and the usual BS, and he explained that the water was clean and healthy with no bacteria, or problems and to not worry, the Grandbabies were in no danger of any harmful water. WOW, so thorough and knowledgable. Jeremy helped to calm my fears and educated me of what to be on the lookout for. I am grateful to him and his willingness and speed to ensure that we are all safe. Great job to him and to the City of Tacoma! Excellent job!

Darrell in the leak detection division is by far the best City Employee I've ever ran across! very helpful and follows through! kudos to him.

When they turn off the water when they start flushing the water in your area it's because you can't use the water at all because they are trying to fix the water line and the purity of the water to make sure we are getting good water to drink and use
The money is used for the increased quality of water. As federal regulations become stricter for overall the benefit of the public, there are upgrades that need to be made. An example would be the water filtration that was completed about 5 years ago.
