Concrete, clay, and slate tiles are roofing materials that last the longest. They outperform other natural products like wood shakes or manufactured roofing materials including asphalt shingles and metal roofing. While they have a good lifespan, they are not as durable as some of the newer synthetic materials on the market. If you are looking for material that will last the longest, these are your best bet.
We recommend composition/asphalt shingles because they are lightweight, inexpensive, and easy to install. They come in sheets that can be layered on top of each other for an attractive appearance similar to cedar or slate single shingles.
