This is NOT a DMV experience. Drive up, show your license for Dallas County residence, and they take the material. Mid-day on a weekday there was no wait. Excellent work.

this isnt a review for the place and its employees, its a review for their hours. they close monday and fridays. the days that are most taken off for people to do extra things they cant during the week. people here arent rude or anything, they just seem like they dont want to be there. so dont expect them to be all super nice. they are doing their job.

This place is great! I am a resident of Plano but because I live in an apartment complex and do not pay for city trash services, the plano hazardous waste program would not collect my hazardous waste. Instead, they directed me here to the Dallas County Hazardous Waste facility. Normally there is a $95 fee for non residents of Dallas County to dispose of their hazardous waste here. However, because I only had one aerosol can they waived the fee and accepted my waste. The employees are friendly and they truly care about people disposing of waste properly.

Honestly I was really surprised by my experience. Great customer service. Very friendly workers unloaded my items quickly and sent me on my way. I have not had as good of experiences at other City of Dallas waste locations.

I have approximately 50 gallons of old gasoline drain from my motorhome tank I need to dispose of it where do I take it
An electronic bill can be shown instead of a paper bill.
NOT if you live in one of the member cities of the co-operative network. Most, BUT not all cities in Dallas County proper. We accept Household Hazardous Wastes generated from ANY private home (no business wastes or non profits either ) ,however residents of those cities not in our cooperative network will need to pay a $95 fee ( cash or check NO credit cards-*network members feel processing fees are too high)
No, you do not.
Sorry, not clear on those. Are the hazardous. If not garbage
When I dropped off used paint there were no special requirements. Do expect to wait in line for about 45 minutes to an hour. They will unload everything so you stay in your car. If possible don't have anything extra in your trunk. They also take batteries, Compact Fluorescent lights and electronics. So load up and make the wait worthwhile.
Assuming that you have latex paint, it is only a problem waste when it is in liquid form. One (of many) way(s) to get rid of latex paint is to pour it over kitty litter in a shallow container or trench lined with plastic. The litter will help absorb the moisture in the paint. When it has dried completely, break it up and place it in the regular trash. Similarly, you can also pour it over leaves or other trash. If nothing else, consolidate all your partial cans of latex paint together into one can, then set all the now empty cans out in the sun to dry with the lids off. Once all moisture content is gone, the empty cans may be placed in the regular trash and then take the full cans to the collection center. Often times, collection centers have huge (500+/-) gallon tanks where they pour all the latex paint, then they offer free neutral color paint back to the public for re-purposing (like painting sheds, dog houses, etc.).
This facility is for residents of Dallas County. Garland is in Dallas County.
There is a drop off in the lobby of the Garland police station on Forest Lane at the Ave "B" & Ave "D" split.
I'm not 100% sure on this but I believe with small amounts of asbestos it's completely fine to double bag and dispose with household waste
Yes
Sorry we had to discontinue thus service as we git too many complaints about not having enough if a certain color or nit having any of a certain color etc.
...Why should you visit? Is that a visitor's center?)
They do accept chemicals from Richardson.
No ,sorry. We are only licensed for PRIVATE, HOUSEHOLD wastes and NOT BUSINESS WASTES. Youll be needing the services of a licensed hazardous waste disposal facility i.e. Stericycyle or Clean Harbors or TAS environmental or Safety Klean or
I refinish old furniture and paint them. I would love to have your leftover paint?
Yes, you can.
Yes you can
You can bring needles and sharps to this facility, as long as you have them in a puncture resistant container, such as a milk jug or coffee can.
If you are within Dallas County, you can take it to the Northeast (Fair Oaks) Transfer Station at 7677 Fair Oaks Ave, Dallas, TX 75231 during their business hours. Take a utility bill with you along with your identification. Hours currently are 7:30am-5:00pm Wed and Sat. Not sure what other counties they serve.
