If I could give this pharmacy a subzero review I would. It is not the fault of the people who work there but the fault of extremely poor management. I’ve been getting my prescriptions filled here, as has the rest of my family, for the last four years. It’s always been a little bit trouble prone in terms of getting alerts that your prescription is ready and then arriving on site and it not being ready. However, since they were bought by CVS/Rite Aid, you have to plan on spending at least an hour to try to pick up you prescriptions. Emphasis on “try”…half the time they can’t find it or it isn’t ready. As others have mentioned in their reviews, no one picks up the phone, you can’t leave a voicemail, and it can take up to four days for a single prescription to be filled. Today, Saturday, the line ran the length of the store and there was one person working the check out. When I asked her if she had any idea when things might change because I’ve been told for two months now that it’s just a staffing issue that will be resolved, she gave me what sounded like a recorded response: “ I have no way of predicting the hiring process or if things will change. I’m sorry for your experience.” She moved at a snail’s pace and I’m sure it’s because she’s exhausted and overworked. But I cannot go there anymore, I leave irritated every time. CVS/Rite Aid, is a major corporation that can certainly afford to resolve these issues. A few weeks ago a man who needed life-saving diabetes meditation left the store in tears after having waited for an hour and a half only to find that not only did they not have his medication, they wouldn’t be able to try to contact his doctor for another day, or two. I've witnessed several situations like these. Unacceptable corporate malfeasance. Bartells was locally owned and operated and I’m truly sad it’s come to this. I used to do ALL my drugstore shopping at Bartells specifically because it's a locally owned and operated business. UPDATE: They seemed to have turned things around in February, and it’s back to normal. Friendly, competent and prompt service. Of course there’s still a lone "now and then" extra wait or misunderstanding, but nothing like it was during the transition - just common human error. I can accept that. So I upped my rating from 1 to 4 stars.

Big time glitches in the pharmacy. But I have been shopping here for years and know some of the staff. Great place to look for local products! Always friendly and one of the few stores that allow customers to use the bathroom! For me... that is a win win!

Really great to receive a letter in the mail stating that they will take care of my pharmacy needs and refill my prescriptions here doing their best to make my life easier yet at the same time literally having no access to leave a voicemail, no one answering the phone and not having ANY of my information to actually be able to get a refill. This is worse than the issues I had with rite aid.

Plan on having to physically visit this pharmacy two to three times, waiting in line for up to an hour each visit, just to get a SINGLE scrip filled. The pharmacy’s switch to a new computer system has been catastrophic. They lost every postdated prescription in their system, and the line to get scrips filled extends the length of the store. Not only that, they will not pick up the phone, nor will they call my doctor for an updated scrip without me standing there refusing to leave the pick-up window. So tomorrow I have to take off work to get my scrip filled. Bartell, you were the best in the neighborhood. Now you are the worst! By far.
