Totally fun! Friendly, knowledgeable guides, good communication, and equipment felt high quality. We saw lots of animals and lovely views during our short trip. Highly recommend!

Our family of four went on a Family Fun tour, and we had an amazing time. Our two guides, Carter and Chandler, we're awesome. Not only were they extremely nice, they were also knowledgeable and passionate about marine ecology. It was cool to see, and learn about, the island from the water, and the easy pace made it relaxing and fun. We got to see eagles, herons, fish, crabs, deer on the shore, and even a baby seal! Our trip to Whidbey was more memorable because we did this, and we would love to return for a longer tour one day.

Over the past few years we've done four excursions with Whidbey Island Kayaking Company and have had an amazing experience on each one of them. Our guides have been experienced, well-informed, articulate, helpful, and accommodating. We've done Langley Harbor, Penn Cove and two tours in Possession Point. On each trip we've seen a ton of wildlife including bald eagles, great blue herons, pigeon guillemots, and harbor seals. If you've never kayaked, the Langley Harbor tour is a great place to start. The half day tours are a great way to see Whidbey from a unique angle.

Whidbey Island Kayaking is a "must do" when visiting the island. The staff are extremely professional, incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, sea life, and no matter what skill level or your experience with kayaking, they allow you to feel safe and do everything to create a memorable and magical experience. A FABULOUS adventure not soon forgotten. Thank you Krista and Ryan!

It’s a solid 2 hour walk. However, we have a bus system on the island that is free. Check out the schedule and routes at Island Transit.
They recommend reservations if you want to go out on one of their tours. If you want to just rent a kayak or paddleboard to take out on your own reservations are not required. The equipment is rented on a first come, first serve basis. Their website outlines their policies pretty well.
