Very nice people in the office they help with feeding u and they help u find housing me and my kid’s are grateful. A lot of times people don’t know what u faced and what u may be going through. These people go out they way to help with shelter and food as well housing it feels like our own lil temporary apartment until we find housing

Hi Michelle, There is Strack & Van Til as well as a Dollar General about 3/4 of a mile north on the east side of Calumet Ave. There is also a Town & Country grocery store about a third of a mile south on the west side of Calumet Ave.
There is a men's shelter right across the street
Antwan legal issues shouldn't disqualify you. HO is a safe place for people who need help. Violent offenders and offences may disqualify you. There maybe a waiting list if so New Creation help men.
You can either call or go and talk to them they can help you they helped me
There is a waiting list and they go by when units open up.
By giving the homeless a place to stay and by showing you how to help yourself. They also try to get people housing when available
Hi, please call our office at 219.548.2800 or stop by during business hours for more information and housing help.
Hi Melinda, Please visit our office at 2001 N Calumet Ave. in Valpo or call 219.548.2800 to fill out a housing assessment. We're part of a county-wide program to help provide emergency housing and affordable rentals to residents in need.
I would call them first to make sure that they have a place to store them.
Bring your friend or have your friend come and talk to them.
I paid a $15 application fee
Call them
They also have an affordable housing program u can apply for as well... They have properties all over in valpo, portage, Michigan city, ect... It goes by the Indiana housing development income guidelines, as long as u make between a certain amount for the number of ppl in ur household, they will have u fill out an app for that and its a $30 app fee once u turn it in, if ur approved then they will place u in a place once becomes available..hope this was helpful for u!! Good luck hon and have faith, ive learned that more than ever this past month!! It deleted my other msg haha, but yes as long as u dont have a protective order or no contact order against one another. My fiance and i have been in a slumlord situation and had nowhere to go with r 3 young children, they will give u an assessment and score ur case between 1&10 and then put u on the wait list according to that score..the ppl there r super nice and make u feel so comfortable!!
