Silver Springs State Park is beautiful despite mosquitoes & some ticks at times. The museum is a great place for all ages to learn about nature without bugs biting you. Check hours.

Inside the park is pet friendly but pets not allowed inside buildings also has nice walking trails and several dog stations

The museum is only closed from 8 - 2 weekdays. The park is still open. The museum is run through a partnership between the state and the Marion County Public Schools, therefore the museum itself is closed to public during times when school groups are on site.
