Worked with Eric to find right replacement windows, back door and garage door that were affordable. Showed up without all the gimmick and upsell stuff. Just straight shooting about what we could get, no hidden fees. Thanks to usa supply problems, it took a while for windows to come in but to be expected in this economy. Was patient and now sitting pretty with great window that make house look great! Fyi had to pay some upfront but contract is legit and the company follows through with some great and friendly installers. Would recommend!

Today we got our new windows installed and my only regret is that I didn't have them.install the windows in the back as well. We had them done by another company last year. Eric provided great guidance on the selection of the products that would both enhance the energy efficiency but also the curb appeal. The install was completely done within a day. It was done expertly and they even cleaned up the dust and debris. We are very satisfied and would highly recommend Protex Remodeling for your projects. I know I will use them to replace a few remaining windows. Impressed with their pricing, quality of products and expert installation. Thank you, Eric and team.

Trust when I say “These are the guys you want…” Aaron and Sasha came out and if I wasn’t there to witness the quality work which was performed… all I can say is “THANKS” you definitely brought your “A” game. My house is 1949 a little over 1200sq. ft. about 18 windows not much to look at but still home and as a homeowner you appreciate when your house is respectfully done in a clean and orderly fashion what I am referring to is caring; going that extra mile to not only make it look right but to make sure it functions correctly as well let me just say Eric is no joke. You hear a lot of contractors that talk a good game but when it comes down to quality materials and workmanship it’s hard to get both. Let’s face the fact. the hard truth is most contractors cannot be totally trusted because they will bring in cheap materials/labor or both to increase their bottom line however, with ProTex they give what they promise plus. They use quality materials and take ownership and pride in the work and the areas which they’re working in; constantly cleaning up removing clutter and debris… I could go on and on telling you about how good they are but you truly won’t know until you experience the ProTex difference in fact, if you would, I encourage you to watch their YouTube channel not only does Eric talk the talk but he walks the walk even better. After experiencing so much anxiety having to check and recheck behind so called professional contractor/builders not doing things right trying to slide things in whether it’s wrong/shoddy materials, installation or workmanship (because they know that they will be long gone before anyone would know or detect what they did) during my remodeling experience ProTex ranks at the top of my list for siding and window installations

Many homeowners overlook the importance of good sealants. The type and quality of sealants used to install windows and doors varies greatly. With the extreme heat and UV exposure in North Texas. ProTex Remodeling uses OSI Quad on the exterior of all our window, door, and siding installations. We are certified OSI installers, all our products come with a 15 year “no leak warranty” from OSI.

Are sliding patio doors better than French patio doors?

ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021
ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021

Sliding patio doors are made to withstand regular opening and closing. Most manufacturers test their doors hundreds of thousands of cycles before going into production. Sliding patio doors do not obstruct the interior or exterior with their operation so you have more choices in the layout of the room. French doors are beautiful and offer a distinguished look. There are big differences in quality of French doors. In my opinion, I would stay with the name brand manufacturers and make sure you get adjustable ball bearing hinges, auto adjusting thresholds and multi point locking system. Whatever your choice in patio doors, make sure you know exactly what kind of warranty the manufacturer is issuing on the door and what it covers.

Basically, making your windows a free investment over time.

Is vinyl siding any good in Texas?

ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021
ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021

Vinyl siding that has a laminated insulated backer is one of the very best choices in residential siding. Like any product, the siding is only as good as the person installing it. Most siding manufacturers will not warranty improper installation. Therefore, it is imperative that you select the right company with the knowledge and skill to install whatever type of siding fits your needs. Vinyl siding however, remains one of the most popular maintenance free choices in siding today.

Is there a big mess after replacing my windows?

ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021
ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021

Some installers do not take the time to protect the work environment and simply use the old window screen to catch the debris. The reason is that when they are paid a low wage at the discount window companies, the installer simply doesn’t have the resources to buy the necessary materials to protect the work area. They are playing a numbers game and time is the key factor in making money. ProTex Remodeling provides a premium wage, has skilled installers and requires that all work area surfaces are protected before starting your project. We vacuum the interior and use plastic tarps to catch the debris on the exterior. We do not break glass with a hammer like most companies do. We deglaze the windows using a putty knife and a Map torch, this causes much less glass breakage.

How long does it take to replace my windows?

ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021

Generally, a professional window installation crew can replace 8-12 windows per day correctly. There are many companies who will rush through your installation because of what they pay their installers per window. Discount window companies often pay installers on the low end of the pay scale. The installers that work there are often lower skilled and willing to work for what they can get or worse yet, installers that have burnt their bridges with the other companies and have nowhere else to work. In order to make a profit, these installers are almost forced to work fast and do multiple jobs per day.

How much does it cost to replace my windows?

ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021
ProTex Remodeling | Nov 4, 2021

New windows can vary greatly when it comes to your total investment. Some variables that can influence the price of a windows are: -The materials are used to manufacture the window. -The quality of the glass and coatings. -Tempered safety glass, obscured glass, and internal grids. -The color, size, and operation of the window. In general, new vinyl windows with energy-star rated performance should start at a minimum of $450.00-$500.00 per window installed. I would be very suspicious of a window costing much less than that.
