On weekends the SPCA in Galveston Texas takes dogs that need homes to both Major Pet Stores here to be adopted.
You have to take the feeder road north bound to get there is the easiest way or 646 & walker to turn into the shop center also to get in or out

The groomers here are awesome. They have excellent bedside manner. Refuse to stress your pet, and if they can't do something 100% to their standards ( usually because your baby is scared or fidgety ) they won't even charge you for what they did get done. Usually when someone gets upset with the groomers it's because their dog is matted from lack of maintenance and the groomer has to shave them. Sad really, but bottom line the groomers have to do what's in your pet's best interest period.
I have heard that several PetSmart do allow customers to wash their dog when there is no appointments

Sometimes, but senior dogs are always available at League City Shelter, and Bay Area Pet Adoptions. Sadly they are often overlooked, and passed up for puppies and young adult dogs.
Yes, they do, most weekends. IIRC there are a couple of different rescue groups.
