They're doing a good job trying to preserve a PBY, and the indoor displays of a history of Oak Harbor and the history of the Naval Air Station is commendable. Also very interesting, especially from the perspective of the local community.

I took my two boys, ages 9 and 11, to this museum, and they had a great experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibits were interesting for the kids and for me. The PBY was the highlight, though. A guide walked us through the aircraft and answered all my kids' questions. I certainly didn't drive out there expecting a personalized tour of a WWII aircraft! The whole place exceeded my expectations.

Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. It's a small museum, but packed with many historical pieces. The museum showed a lot of pride for the Navy, as well as the history behind Whidbey Island and the military presence on it.

It is as it is described. Maritime patrol aviation was important during previous wars and is still important today. Museum is small but informational. There is a flight simulator and a small theater. Well worth the July pricing of 5 dollars.

Patrol Bomber Consolidated... The Y is the designation for the company, Consolidated. More info on Consolidated: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidated_Aircraft
Currently, $5 for all, since covid protocols are still in place meaning a few high touch exhibits are closed such as flight simulators. Kids under 6 free. Now through Labor Day, active duty and their families have free admission.
