We were changing out bathroom light fixtures in our home which is something we have done many times before and should have been straight forward with no issues. Unfortunately this time was not the case due to questionable electrical work done by the builder and we lost all power to to not only the bathroom but home office. We called Star Light and not only did Mike answer immediately but was at our house in 15 minutes. Mike was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable, he was able to find the source of the issue which was not an easy task, got the power restored to both the rooms and then fix the wiring issue in the bathroom so that it is correctly wired but most importantly is safe. Anyone needing electrical work done should call Star Light and we guarantee you will be glad you did. Thank you again Mike for all your help and we are happy to have found our electrician going forward. Sincerely, Gillian & Ray

Replaced all hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide protectors. Very professional and friendly. Explained the process and equipment being installed. Did not leave until all equipment was verified working and cleaned up all areas worked in. I will definitely use this company again for any electrical work needed

It depends on what you're comparing. If you're looking at just the installation aspect, then plumbing is harder because it's more physically demanding and you have to be careful with your measurements. But if you're looking at troubleshooting and repairs, electrician is harder because there are so many things that can go wrong.
There are a few reasons why electricians might put outlets upside down. One reason is that it makes it easier to see the wiring behind the outlet when it's installed. Another reason is that it helps keep water and debris from getting into the outlet and causing a short circuit.
There is no easy answer to this question. Each trade has its own unique benefits and challenges. However, some people might say that electrician life is easier because it can be more interesting and diverse. Electricians often work on a wide variety of projects, from installing new power lines to fixing broken fixtures. They also have the opportunity to work in a number of different environments, such as factories, construction sites, and offices.
It can cost anywhere from $75 to $200 to have an electrician install an outlet, depending on the complexity of the job. For example, if the electrician has to run a new wire to the outlet, the cost will be at the higher end of the range. If they're just replacing an existing outlet, it will be closer to the lower end.
Yes and no. Robotics has eliminated certain manual labor tasks electricians were once responsible for, such as handling and connecting wires. However, the advent of robotics has also created new opportunities for electricians, such as working on the programming and maintenance of robots.
es, you can be a plumber and an electrician. A plumber installs and maintains the systems that carry water and waste out of buildings, while an electrician installs and maintains electrical systems. Many people work as both a plumber and an electrician.
Electrical work can include a vast number of different tasks, from outlet installation and wiring to more complex projects like the installation of security systems or data cables.
Generally, no. It can be stressful when there is a power outage and customers are calling because their power is out. But usually, it's a pretty laid back job.
Electricians use a variety of math skills, depending on the type of job they're doing. For example, when working with circuits, electricians use Ohm's law to calculate resistance, current, and voltage. When installing wiring or making repairs, they use basic arithmetic and measurements to figure out how much cable or wire is needed, and then measure and cut it to the right length.
You don't have to hire an electrician to change out a ceiling fan, but it is recommended. Changing a ceiling fan is a relatively easy task, but it can be dangerous if you're not familiar with electrical wiring.
Any work that involves the installation, alteration, repair, or servicing of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures is considered electrical work. This includes work in both residential and commercial settings.

If you're looking for a career change and are interested in the electrical field, it's important to do your research and find the right training program to match your interests and goals.
There are a few ways that electricians can avoid mixing wires. One way is to use different colors for each wire. This is often done with black and white wires, which are usually used in homes. Another way to avoid mixing wires is to use markings on the insulation of each wire. Finally, electricians can use different shaped connectors on the ends of each wire. This is often done with screws or clamps.

High voltage detectors are necessary tools for electricians, because they allow workers to identify and avoid high-voltage areas. High-voltage areas can be dangerous, and can cause electrical shocks, so it's important for electricians to be able to identify these areas and stay safe.

Electricians wear rubber gloves for a few reasons. The first reason is because they provide insulation and protect the electrician's hands from electrical shocks. The second reason is that they keep the electrician's hands clean and free of oil and grease, which can create a fire hazard.
An electrician should know how to safely work with electricity, be familiar with the National Electrical Code, and understand the principles of electrical wiring and circuitry. Additionally, electricians should be able to identify common electrical hazards and take steps to minimize risk of injury.

It is a great investment because it provides economic and environmentally friendly power. Besides those advantages, there are many other benefits both now and in the future.
Home generators allow a user to power their home in times of need. One benefit is that it would be an easy way to keep the air conditioner running during a blackout, without exposing the house occupants to the sweltering heat outside.
It's true, cars can be used as generators. However, the range of power that the average car battery will provide is not nearly enough to keep up with supply needs during a blackout.
Excess power requirements in the event of utility outages is a significant factor when considering home generator installation. If your home just can't seem to get by with the usual power outage, then you may want to consider purchasing a backup generator.

No. Copper and aluminum are not compatible metals for this service. You can contact Star Light Electric LLC for an estimate of the cost to repair the wire with a copper wire cable.
For one, the sound is a lot quieter. Copper wire does not vibrate as much as aluminum wire and this makes electricity sound less of a humming noise from an aluminum wire.
Star Light Electric LLC is a licensed electrician in the state of New Hampshire. That being said, as long as the wiring isn't visibly damaged, then it might be best to have a licensed electrician inspect it before making any decisions. If the wiring seems unsafe, feel free to give them a call!

This is known as "electrical maintenance troubleshooting." Another type addresses more serious problems such as explosions or fires that could create a dangerous environment until they are fixed. This last kind is called "emergency electrician circuit breaker repair".
