Peter, owner at State 48 Home Services, rescued me in June, 2021 when my rental home needed a new A/C unit. So this year, knowing that my home unit was going to die soon, I called Peter for the lowdown on prices and availability. Bottom line... I ended up with a great Bosch 19 Seer unit at a price I couldn't refuse. Oscar and Rodolfo did the install. They should be commended for their professional and orderly work. They even reworked the ducting to let the new system run at peak efficiency. Also, kudos to Sean who came over later for a post install inspection. A team win!

I reached out to this company and inquired about having an extra 12 inches of insulation blown into my attic to help the cooling system with the summer heat, Anthony reached out to me and scheduled a time to meet and do estimates based on our needs. The estimate was super smooth anthony explained everything and didn't over sell me anything. We agreed on terms of the upgrade needed and set a date. The day came and anthony and Oscar were right on time . These gentlemen were as curtious and professional as it gets. When they were done there wasn't a trace they ever were there. Still took time when the job was complete to answer any further questions I had even took time to talk a little football with me. Overall these guys get 10 stars my wife and myself are extremely pleased with the job these gentlmen did. Do yourself a favor and give them a call you'll be happy did.Good price, quality work and curtious we highly recommend Anthony and state 48

Questions & Answers

Is it normal for my heat pump to deliver warm air (not hot) and operates for long periods of time?

State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021
State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90°.

How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021

You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.

What maintenance should I perform on my air conditioning unit?

State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021

Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

Is an HVAC system with higher capacity better?

State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021
State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021

In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

How can I increase the lifespan and efficiency of my home’s HVAC systems?

As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.

How do you measure the efficiency of an HVAC system?

State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021
State 48 Home Services | Nov 4, 2021

HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.
