Crossroads has been a great experience and has changed my life. I recommend this place to everyone.

I literally love this place! I have received so much support from different counselors there. They really do care about us and what's going on. They work their hardest to make sure we feel safe enough to open up and really do some work.

I've had some bad experiences with SOME of the employees there but overall I love MOST of the counselors there are great! They give assistance to those in need and have great Groups that help alot!

Overall, the IOP I attended here was good, but the disorganization was annoying. When I first began attending it was a mess trying to figure out where I was supposed to be. At first, I seemed to be bounced back and forth from counselor to counselor. My anxiety was sky high trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. After my first few days I totally snapped on a counselor for not guiding me and explaining to me what I was supposed to be doing and I walked out. He called me later in the day and I did end up returning, finally getting some instruction and guidance. I was a dual-diagnosis patient, for both addiction and mental health, and I visited the on-site psychiatrist a few times. She was very helpful and prescribed a medication I ended up not liking. I returned to my regular psychiatrist but I would have continued seeing her without issue. After the first two weeks or so it was pretty much smooth sailing, unless my counselor was out for the day. When my counselor was absent it was back to the disorganization and confusion that I experienced at the start, and many times when he was not there I simply walked out and did not attend for the day because my experience with other counselors and the mess of trying to figure out where to be was so poor. This place keeps you attending by threatening you won't get credit if you miss a day. While signing myself out I was always rudely confronted stating I could fail the program and I wouldn't be given credit. I was there on my own accord, not by court order, and the threats were unnecessary and irrelevant to my attendance. The transportation sucks honestly. I ended up getting someone to drop me off most days. I had a strange experience with a counselor who, during a large group session, decided to speak about being "gay for the stay" while in jail/prison, and detail his opinions on the "lifestyle" of the LGBTQ+ community. As a lesbian, this was incredibly uncomfortable and the opinion was ignorant and shouldn't have been voiced in the first place. It was unprofessional and I spoke up and told him that and asked him to stop speaking on my community which he clearly knew nothing about. The program was helpful, but needs a lot of tweaking and organization. I could see why people would be discouraged to complete this program, I nearly didn't return after just a few days due to the poor management of groups and lack of instruction. But I ended up with a good counselor who kept me motivated and held valuable groups. I'd recommend this place, but only if you can tough out the complete disorganization and only if you have the courage to advocate for yourself when things are being handled improperly.
