Office staff is fantastic. Very disappointed with the doctors. I was referred here by a service that supposedly finds the best doctors. Dr Stoltzfus was highly rated for compassion. I liked her but had several disturbing experiences. On my first visit, I should have run when the nurse told me I was only allowed to go over three symptoms per visit. In trying to get additional symptoms discussed, at subsequent visits, I was casually told I must just have fibromyalgia and come back in 3 months. I didn’t even get through my medical history, mind you. Got sick as I do every summer around the same time only way worse than ever before. Went in and Ashley from the west office literally came in the room after testing me for POTS and telling me I had the classic symptom of a heart rate jump of >40 bpm and not sure the blood pressure drop…but she comes back in the room and said “now I want you to think REALLY hard: isn’t this just anxiety”. It didn’t even hit me at first that she was totally gaslighting me. So doctor 1 won’t listen. Doctor 2 says it all in my head. Enter doctor 3: Also tries to tell my I’m just having anxiety and sends me home with an inhaler for asthma that I don’t have and should NOT even be taking with glaucoma. Again: Gave them a typed up medical history that no one looked at. So $200 of useless dangerous medication and gaslighting. This is how women were treated in the freaking 1800’s. They tried to tell me it’s all in my head three separate times with a documented, diagnosed medical history and measurable physical symptoms you cannot fake. Couldn’t possibly be that my hypermobility and crazy heart rate and blood pressure variations, fainting in the heat, blood pooling in my legs and arms, constant vitamin B12 and D deficiencies are an actual known disease. I had to fight with them to even test me for vitamin deficiencies! Went to a separate doctor after these 3 horrible experiences. She knew immediately what was wrong and got me the right treatment. I am having the Dysautonomia society send this backwards practice some information so maybe the next poor woman with her damn hair falling out gets taken seriously.
