Hands down the best farmers market for fresh produce and Farm to Table Goods in the city of Houston! Unlike other farmers markets that turn out to be largely craft shows this one actually has produce such as tomatoes, squash, carrots, Etc and related Farm to Table products like homemade goat cheeses, homegrown exotic mushrooms, and fresh breads.

This is what it’s all about. More than farm grown vegetables and fruits - the vendors here are a beautiful mixture of craft entrepreneurs and specialists in their field. I found all of them wiling and able to discuss their product and how it’s grown or produced. A level of pride that shows in their product. An Ethiopian version of chimichurri? YES please! Over 13 kinds of micro greens? Can’t find that at Sprouts. A welcoming, family and pet friendly environment I cannot wait to revisit in a few weeks.

Overall very supportive of local artisans and vendors but unfortunately there isn’t a lot of fresh produce offering and the ones that do offer fresh produce don’t accept card payments so something to consider.

If you don’t go early, some vendors start running out of their goods! They are that good. Small market with a lot of variety. Very pet friendly which I loved.

Many of the vendors, including the farmers, are able to take card payments. I've yet to have any vendors turn down card payment. ☺️
The market is open every Saturday from 9a-1p, rain or shine.
You will have to talk to the Market Managers about fees, I don't know how they've changed in the last couple of years. I can tell you definitely, though, that the charter for this Market is "Makers ONLY." All of the vendors *only* market items they've made or grown or cooked or sewn or crafted. The Managers are quite adamant that the quality of the merchandise remain homemade or handcrafted. I asked once about setting up an antiques booth. No dice! There are other markets in West Houston that allow other types of vendors, (they are more like flea markets), but this is a Maker's Market; to remain open during Covid, they even had to restrict some of the handcrafters. But the farmers, cooks, bakers and other food vendors continued!
The Memorial Villages Farmers Market is open all year round, 52 weeks per year, so yes, we will be open in February, 2022.
The market is held on the grounds of First Congregational Church, which has decided to continue to require masks.
Probably.
There has been artwork for sale in the past. Check with the manager for details.
I believe so.
We are there 9-1 every Saturday, rain or shine--52 weeks per year.
Early is good! It opens at 9am. You'll get the best parking and your pick of items if you go when it opens ☺️
I've never seen anything like that advertised there. If you ask on their Facebook page you might get an official answer.
