We booked our hotel with the Best Western Sunset Inn in Cody, WY on July 27th, 2022 in the afternoon on the way to Cody from Red Lodge on the Beartooth Highway, that just recently opened. We arrived in Cody, had dinner, and headed to the Best Western Sunset Inn to get cleaned up for the rodeo, which starts at 8pm. When we arrived at the hotel at 7:40, we checked into the front desk to get our keys for our disability room (we have a son with special needs). When we walked into our room, we found the room had not been cleaned. So we called the front desk at 7:50 to ask for another room because we needed to be at the rodeo at 8pm. The person at the front desk who said she was the manager said she would send someone over right away to clean our room because they didn't have any available rooms (we looked it up online and their website showed they had availability, so obviously she wasn't telling us the truth). At 7:56, an employee walked by with black and orange skunk hair and nose piercings, to which I asked, "where are your cleaning items?" She replied, "I am the manager." I then said, "So you didn't come to clean the room?" She told me "No, housekeeping is going to come right away to clean your room." I told her that it had already been 6 minutes and I said, "so you showed up but you're not cleaning anything?" Meanwhile our child with special needs is sitting the car waiting to poop. We asked for a refund and she told us she couldn't refund it because we booked through a 3rd party. After a few minutes of arguing with me, she finally agreed to refund our money. As we were waiting for the room to be refunded, the same woman continued to tell us she could call housekeeping to have the room cleaned. But by that time, we were done and did not want to stay there after that experience. Plus we needed to find a bathroom. NOT DISABILITY/SPECIAL NEEDS FRIENDLY

After spending an entire day in Yellowstone, this motel welcomed me to rest. The staff was very welcoming and made the check in a breeze. It’s refreshing to walk into a clean, cool, and cozy room after a long day. There was a “welcome” sheet lying on the bed that gave a brief history of the motel. The room itself was a bit cramped, but very clean and cozy. The lighting in the bathroom needs improvement along with the lighting of the vanity outside of the bathroom. Overall, the stay was great and would recommend it to anyone who needs to stop by for the night.

Stayed here the night before a day trip to Yellowstone. Got in around 6:15pm. The lady at check-in was wonderful. Showed me a map to make sure I got to our room easily. Also gave us tips about the Cody Night Rodeo such as where to sit and what time to get there... to which we went and had an absolute ball. Breakfast the next morning was super. The food was beyond expectations for a free breakfast included with your room. The service with that breakfast was even better. While one employee was restocking food and such, another was scanning the room to ensure all attendees were not in need of anything. It reminded me of a time I attended a private function at Jean Georges Steakhouse in the Aria Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where we had our own waiter assigned to our private room. Regarding the rooms, I could see uppity-types saying the rooms are a bit dated, but it certainly was not an issue for our crew and it felt a bit nostalgic to me so I kind of enjoyed it. Without reservations, we would for sure stay again if we were to come back to the area. Last but not least, we encountered 5 different employees during our short stay, all of which were friendly. Great stay and it gave us a great first impression of Cody, Wyoming.

Clean nice rooms for the pet friendly rooms! We were very pleased with the rooms and the pool and hot tub were great along with a play ground for traveling kids to stretch out on!! We will definitely stay here again if in the area!
