I had the pleasure of working with Michael Miller after my MVA. I truly could feel that he cared for my well being and he worked hard for my case. I have never worked with an attorney before but he made it very easy to understand the judicial branch and system. He represented me well throughout the years and is very dedicated to his clients. Wonderful work ethic and great guy!

Just want to say thank you to Mr. Miller for taking over my claim and providing me with answers to all my questions. I got a better outcome then expected! Definitely recommend!

Typically, six (6) years in Minnesota, however there are some situations that will lessen this time limit. You actually have two separate claims when you’re involved in a motor vehicle collision. The first is with your own insurance company for what we call “no-fault” benefits. No-fault benefits include initial medical expenses, wage losses, etc. The second claim you have would be against the at-fault driver and their insurance company. Normally, Minn. Stat. §541.05 applies and states that you have six years to commence your personal injury case. I would recommend speaking with a lawyer to make sure you aren’t missing any available avenues for recovery or missing any possible situations that would shorten this time frame. It is also helpful to speak with an attorney right away while evidence can still be gathered and claims can be set up with the insurance companies properly. Don’t wait.
If you have been convicted of a misdemeanor offense, it is possible to have the conviction expunged. If an expungment is granted, all records of your offense, including police reports, court records, and your criminal record would be sealed. This process can be complicated and is not always a sure thing. For the best chance of success with an expungement, it is best to have an attorney who understands the process help you through it.
This is sometimes possible, yes. In an Order for Protection or Harassment Restraining Order case, the court has the power to exclude a person even from their own home.
When the legislature reduces the consequences for a particular crime, it may apply only to new cases, or it may also apply to prior cases. These questions are most often determined by the Minnesota appellate courts. Those courts must apply the appropriate legal analysis to determine whether a new criminal punishment law is to be applied retroactively.
