3 stars for "It's okay". Neither positive or negative. Went in to see about getting one 15" Tire recycled. The two staff members there were not rude in any way but they were not the most friendly either. What I was more interested in was the sign on the wall that stated that to do business with them, you must give up your 4th amendment right and prove you are a Howard County resident. As a Tax Payer funded service, this seems odd to me. We The People, have rights. We have value. I have to pay for recycling from a County based building and give up my right, to help the environment? Don't get me wrong. It was only $2/18" or smaller tire. Is this a business or a tax funded entity? If I were not a County Resident, would I be charged more or would I be denied service? They also do not accept cash which isn't a big deal to me but I'm sure that would bother someone else. What is a "WI" as written on my receipt? Does my credit card tell them I am a resident of Howard County or do they just take my word on it? I may follow up on this to find out more and update my findings. As a Civil Rights activist, I definitely have some questions. Maybe a picture of the sign in question may be in order.

Website states that they take used tires, as long as you are not a tire business. Had around 50 tires to recycle, lady said she cant take them. CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE!!!!

If you are a Howard County Resident and they are of a personal nature, yes. If they are from a business, even if ran out of your home, or relate to rental properties you own, then no.

If the container has been washed and is free of contaminants, can I bring in styrofoam cups to be recycled?

Nicholas Colon | Nov 5, 2018
Jake Pebley | Nov 5, 2018

Sorry but we are currently unable to recycle items made of polystyrene(#6). Thats fantastic you take the time to rinse off material, many do not know the grave importance of doing so, thank you. Due to its cheap bulk production and lasting effects on the planet its a very important topic, but unfortunately styrofoam is a notoriously hard and expensive recycling process still.

Is there any chance you have blue wine bottles? If so how can I get them?

Where do I get rid of florescent tubes and old tires

Shirley Moore | Nov 5, 2018
Jake Pebley | Nov 5, 2018

More than welcome to get rid of both here, stop in front office at 4102 cartwright drive! Must show proof of residency in Howard county. Light bulbs of all shapes, sizes, and types are free to bring(including fluorescent) as are many items we recycle. However we must charge $5 for screened items(flatscreens, projection, tube tvs, monitors) and $2-$5 for tires, we do accept rims also but can not separate the two. Large tractor tires also at $30. ALSO WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT CASH FOR THE TWO ITEMS FEE'S
