What words comes to mind when I think about Cathy and her team? Heart, stamina, tough. I had a long divorce process over the months of Covid. It was extremely complex and contentious. Cathy guided me through things I didn’t even understand until we went to trial. She had our facts and documents ready and prepared and she came to trial with all the heart, stamina and strength as if she were fighting for her own family. And when you’re going through this ugly process isn’t that really what you need? She is frank and will never tell you what you want to hear but will rather tell you what you need to hear, so you can be prepared. And then she will fight and keep fighting anyway no matter the odds. She knows where to flex and where to bend in order to get the results you’re looking for and present your case in the best light. And she has seen more in her career than most see in a lifetime. If you want expert advice and a go getter attitude, Cathy is the attorney for you. I promise she comes out swinging. She presents her facts and arguments in a way that is so straightforward that it’s nearly impossible to argue. So, follow her lead and she will get you the best results possible. Cathy is a lion so I get some people can be intimidated by her, but if you’re intimidated by her don’t you think the other side is also? 😉 I’d wish you luck, but if you hire Cathy, I think luck has very little to do with it.

This firm deserves more than a 5-star rating. Prior to working with Cathy, my case was at a total standstill for over a year. Cathy took on my extremely difficult case and since then things have been moving forward. During our calls/meetings Cathy took the time to listen to my concerns, answered all my questions and provided meaningful feedback. The entire legal team is incredibly responsive, and they go above and beyond to help you. Cathy is always very well prepared for court and presents the information well. The billing practices at this firm is incredibly reasonable. Attorneys and paralegals bill appropriately and fairly. The legal representation I received is exceptional!

Top shelf attorney. Cathy and her team assisted me through a long, complex divorce process with expertise and true professionalism beyond what I could have expected. The most important thing to know is that Cathy is dynamite in the courtroom! A force to be reckoned with, and this is the place where you really get to see her shine. She is also supported by a first-rate legal team who she counts on wherever possible so that you don't end up paying more costly attorney fees for the work that a paralegal or office manager could be doing. This was evident all the way through, and I saw instance after instance where it was clear that Cathy and her team are focused on doing an outstanding job for their clients. I highly recommend her, especially if you are going to be facing a contentious battle ahead.

Questions & Answers

Do you require a retainer for your services, or is hourly an option? If not do you know of any family law firms that do hourly? We cannot afford a retainer fee for a custody battle.

Most family law attorneys charge hourly and require a retainer. We do also.

Unfortunately, I cannot answer this just knowing the years of marriage. Your property, children, if any, and reasonableness of your spouse are far more informative as to what cost may be. We offer a free 15 minute call to answer questions about your situation. You can schedule one by calling 513-241-4029.

I was divorced 3 years ago and have an agreement to pay spousal support for 2 more years. My ex would like to have a lump sum payout of a reduced amount NOW rather than get monthly payments for 2 years. what should he sign to make it legal?

You will need an agreed entry filed in your divorce case. Both parties must sign, and it must be submitted to the judge to sign.

Do they charge fees according to income by any chance or a sliding scale maybe?

We do not have a sliding scale, but if our fees are too high, we can refer to you less expensive options.
