Vistied Dr DesJardins for a knee injury. Had X-ray done & 1 hour into visit I finally got to see doctor for 7 minutes. He first asked me “What were the symptoms of your heart attack”?!?! This threw me off. A 2009 heart attack had nothing to do with my knee. He moved my leg around while I told him the issues. Nothing showed on the X-ray so he wanted an MRI. My insurance denied the MRI until 6 weeks of conservative care has been done. His assistant called me 3 days after they received this info from my insurance company saying he’s sending me to physical therapy. I had a follow up appointment to the MRI scheduled & planned on using it to discuss a 6 week plan with the doctor. I called the day before the appointment to make sure it was not cancelled. The office staff confirmed my appointment. I showed up the next morning, coming from Cincinnati BTW, & the receptionist could not find the appointment. I told her the situation, she went back to talk to staff about getting me in. His assistant came out and told me he prescribed 6 weeks of therapy. I informed her of the situation. I told her that I have questions for the doctor and like to be more involved with my care then just told by an assistant what I should do. Then I frustratingly asked “Does he not want to speak to me and answer my questions about care?” That’s when she said she would get me in. I waited in the waiting room 45 minutes past my 11am appointment and still was not called back. I began to think of having to pay my $40 copay to ask questions then being sent to PT three times a week without question for a $120/week copay and left. Although if PT was the plan to return to work I am not opposed but if I could take another more inexpensive route (steroid pack, brace, doctor prescribed home workout – my insurance company suggested)it would be a better monetary way for me to go. I am an Aerobics Instructor who has now had to put her job on hold because I was not able to perform. To make this long story short, OrthoCincy staff is the worst handling appointment & questions and the doctors don’t seem to care. I’ve been to two different Doctors at OrthoCincy and although the other doctor did help my problem he also did not seem interested in me and rushed to get to the next number or patient.

I had neck surgery a few years ago with these guys & I had spinal cord surgery almost 3weeks ago with Dr. Jaqkman he did a great job & even though I am still having pain I have faith that what he did will benefit me. These guys are great Dr's. & Seem to truly care about their patients I'm very glad they are my surgeons.
