The front desk was kind and helpful. The general manager Marco was completely rude and unhelpful. If you value your safety do not stay here. The hotel has a leash policy for dogs. I was attacked by an off leash dog at the hotel. The owner of the dog informed me she has been staying there for a month and never leashed her dog. When I informed the staff, they were concerned. Seemingly every time I tried to talk to Marco, the GM, he was busy and was going to "call me back". He never called back. It took three days to get him on the phone. His response was that there was nothing that he could do about it. Again, the general manager, Marco, does not care about you or your safety. He does not care about his customers. I cannot recommend strongly enough to stay at a different place. Sonesta should strongly consider firing Marco and replacing him with the nice man from the front desk.

UPDATE... 4-5 years after my first review, this is now a Sonesta ES and is simply disgusting... It's like it was dragged down the road the last few years. Oof... It was filthy. The room was absolutely horrific. Sheets, floors, walls, furniture was badly torn up/worn and had stains and/or was broken. The freezer had not been cleaned and had nasty ice cubes sitting on a shelf, bathroom floor was very sticky. Bedding had stains all over. I had to request a new sheet just so I had something to use. There were stains on all of the linens and they did not smell great so I had to discard to the side of the bed. Luckily I had a pillow with from home. Night stand was rusty, outlets were pretty much shot. TV was not hanging properly and slanted. It smelled like someone was smoking pot in the hallway and was coming in the air unit in the wall also. The toilet seat was missing most of the bumpers/pads and the remaining were broken. It was the worst I have honestly ever seen in a hotel. Yuck! There is another wonderful Sonesta ES a few miles away that I have stayed at many times over the years (including when it was a Residence Inn) for the same price and nothing like this one. Don't stay here.

We had an extremely bad stay here. I booked a room here last minute on Booking.com which is my favorite third party app.. when I went into the hotel we were quite early for check in and the lady who worked front desk said , it was no problem to get us into a room with an early check in but she couldnt find my Booking reservation, so I gave her my confirmation email, my confirmation number and my pin number which Booking gives you every time you book anything on it. She was unable to retrieve the reservation that I needed and had me call Booking customer service and told me to tell them to resend reservation, so I did. I waited on hold to speak to a human for about 15 min, meanwhile she had texted her manager and the manager was now helping her at a different computer and was trying to explain to me why she wasn't seeing my reservation. I asked if it would be easier to just cancel the booking reservation, and book through the hotel directly, and since Id been told to call their customer service I now had the Booking.com agent on speakerphone waiting for them to find it. The agent resent it and was patiently waiting. Finally after almost an hour total of waiting in the front lobby and after several mentions that we had made the reservation for two nights from 5/21 to 5/23 and had apparently been waiting for that specific reservation until we were given a room and paying 193.00 which was the exact amount for 2 nights on the price of the Booking.com reservation. Everything seemed fine. However the next day at about noon I went outside for a few minutes, and propped the door open with the deadbolt latch oh, and when I got back in the door was locked somebody had picking the latch and either been in the room or at least open the door and shut it we had to get housekeeping to open our door for us. Very creepy so about 30 minutes later somebody from the front desk called my cell phone and ask for my husband and then asked if you'd be expending his state or checking out I told him our reservation is from May 21st to May 23rd today is the 22nd so we check out tomorrow your mistake. We were treated very poorly he insulted me he apologized and admitted their mistake then he still continue to kick me out he would not let me even extend it by paying more money he was extremely rude and then he repeatedly called over the next hour that it took us to check out since we had planned on checking out the following day. I would like a full refund

What a nice place to stay. The staff made us feel right at home. I'm huge fan of their free laundry. My room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here agian at all.

Yes there is restaurants near by. Not to mention Mall of America is super close..
Yes there's a hotel shuttle that takes you within 5 miles which is perfect. Mall of America and tons of restaurants all around
