My husband is a Vietnam veteran. He goes to the VA in E Northport and East Meadow. Is he qualified to shop at the commissary? Thank you.

What I want to know is when getting IDs since my husband is the veteran he has to be there to get them correct? And if so what IDs do they ask for so he can bring them? Could I get an ID without him being there? What do I bring? TY

It's best for him to be there because there are 1 or two forms he has to sign. Make sure he brings his DD214 and driver license, social security card. You should bring your driver license and social security card also. I cant remember if they asked for my birth certificate.

My husband is the veteran so he's the one that has to join? And if so when he is working can I shop without him how does that work ty?

Jacqueline Gutierrez I dont understand what you mean by he has to join. If your husband is a veteran with an i.d.card he can shop at any commissary. If you are his legal wife you can also get a veteran dependent i.d.card and you can shop with or without him. If neither of you has an i.d.card neither of you can shop the i.d.card has a bar code that is scanned before your purchase can be rung up so no i.d.your purchase cant be scanned.
