I can't say enough good things about this place. Check in was simple and the woman behind the counter was so friendly and very helpful. The room was much bigger than we imagined and was sparkling clean. Even the soap and shampoo were great. On top of all that the price was about half the price of the "big name" hotels in the area that I checked into. We will always stay in the Niantic Inn whenever we visit family in New London.

-Huge efficiency room w/ 2 full beds, warm fleece sheets and blankets plenty of lighting. -a kitchen incl. a 2 burner stove, full size sink, microwave, and small fridge, toaster and coffee maker; plenty of real dishes, flatware and glassware; even a large dining table w/ 4 chairs - full bath (endless hot water!) and numerous towels, soap and shampoo -full size windows for daytime and thick draperies to block cold -very attentive staff; thorough room clean 2x weekly incl linens; laundromat on each floor -unbelievable price of just $399/week!!! -beautiful downtown location w/ a movie theater and half-dozen VERY popular restaurants covering all types of cuisine -organic groceries at health food store 2 min walk!

For a 1 star hotel it's really great, location right off the main street but tucked in behind another house and it feels private and quiet. Good size rooms, well kept, clean. laundry on site, friendly staff. The mattresses were ok, noisy a bit. Huge windows, good climate control system. Awesome stay away from beat up touristy paths but still close to everything and with a great beach, park and boardwalk literally across the street. One thing is the hotel is not accessible, at least 2nd floor is not, looks like other 2 floors neither, i did not see an elevator or a ramp. I could not take my stroller inside and had to carry my baby. Not bad tho, only one short flight.

4.2 Friendly staff and very clean property. Average pricing for weekend and weekday stays. 1 mile from Rocky Neck State Park. Pizza, liquor store, ice cream and shopping near by. The suites are spacious with plenty of room for activities. The bath tub is shallow and fills fast as well as holding the water temperature for a comfortable soak. Large enough for a couples soak, but it might be an awkward fit. They also have a nice sitting area in the back with tables and a BBQ.
