I worked at Chehalis West, for a year as I was obtaining my high school degree. This was my first job. I was hired as a dietary aid. My mom also worked at Chehalis West, for 5 years. She was known as a favorite among the residents. Both of us quit, due to a extremely toxic work environment. We were always short staffed, due to the amount of people quitting, because of the poor workplace environment. There was continuely gossip, and very poor management. Several of the workers across different departments had issues with the management but as normal, nothing was done. The management team bullied, and harrassed daily. Including several other workers. The main owner was aware this association had issues, but he didn’t do anything. As for the kitchen, we had workers get drunk on the job, minors working beyond what they should be, bullying, yelling. We always had someone in tears, during work due to these issues. I would cry before my shifts, because of the environment, and the poor management. Let alone, the manger saying things that should not be said to workers. As a example, “you are nothing like your mother, and you should be ashamed” This was said to me the day I quit, by the previous manager Kris. After this, nasty lecture I finally quit. I was fed up with this environment. Chehalis west is a horrible place to work, and I do not recommend for residents either. As several moved out due to raising price. Workers are not appreciated, overworked, and bullied. I am surprised this place has not been sued for the things they done to me, my mother, and many others. Please, look elsewhere for your loved ones, and for work. This place is horrible and has ruined many.
