Awesome, loving place and the staff cares. It is very clean. I give it #1 animal shelter in SE KANSAS. Adoption specials for some pets. They all need exceptionally good homes.

Our adoption fee includes the Low Cost Spay and Neuter program. In addition, the rabies and dewormig. The cost $90 unless assistant has been made prior through donations.
There is a Chihuahua there, named Jesse!! It's very precious!!
There is a fee for surrendering an animal, I'm sorry I don't know the amount of the top of my head, but it helps ensure the animal gets the proper vaccines and food etc. Please call the shelter for more info. And thank you for contacting someone about the shelter instead of just abandoning the animal.
Hi Haley, We have mostly volunteers. Lori Bryant, Director and another staff member are the only paid staff. Keep in touch, if there is ever the opportunity. Have you tried local veterinarian clinics? Summer interns are a great asset and can be a open door for opportunity. I wish you the very best.
Our adoption process for cats is $70. It includes the Low Cost Spay and Neuter program. Including, rabies and deworming. Occasionally, a volunteer will donate to help with adoption fees. Please call AWOL to set up the spay or neuter.
I am very sorry about your family pet. AWOL does not put animals down. Please call any local veterinarian's office. They will guide your family through the loss.
04/16/22. The best thing to do is call AWOL with a list of your preferences. Unless, you could come visit us. We are most fortunate to have supporters, families and businesses.
Thank you for asking several questions. It's the mystery of Mother Nature to determine if a cat is an adult small cat. Most of our cats are rescued and we do not know their DNA. Also, unless a cat has spent quality time with us, we are only trying to estimate their past experiences.
Our volunteers start at 16 years old. Please contact Lori Bryant Director.
Call Awol shelter tomorrow between 1:30 and 3:30 to see if someone brought them in.
To AWOL then they are checked over by a local vet and if in severe shape put down other wise treated and put up for adoption at AWOL if in independence
It is best to go in to check, it can change daily.
Walk in during business hours with the animal, answer a few questions.
If no one adopts the animal after a certain period of time they put the animal down but they're there for months usually before they're put down.
