UPDATE of original review 10/19/22 It could NOT have been a "Fuel Issue" as R&J service claims. After mowing season ends we treat ALL lawn equipment with Stabil treatment for winter storage. During mowing season we treat all gas with Startron gas additive in all gas going into Zero Turn lawn mowers as recommended by manufacturer or NO Ethanol gas. In this specific lawn mower because it was small, we used NO Ethanol gas. If I could give this company a Negative 5 stars I would! Took my 22 month old Murray lawn mower in for warranty work. Before leaving the lawn mower I specifically told them we did NOT want to put any more money into the mower, if it was not covered under warranty, do NOT do the work, I was assured they would call before any work was performed. They called after 3 days that the repair was not covered under warranty because it was "fuel related", when I returned to pick up mower, they would not release the mower without an "inspection fee" of $22.50! Rick Jones of R&J service, what part of "I don't want to put any more money into this mower" don't you understand? My lawn mower is now being held hostage until I pay the bogus "inspection fee" of $22.50, which I was NOT informed of when dropping it off. Definitely contacting the Van Buren Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint.

We Offer Equipment Pick Up & Delivery as a Service. Repairs are Performed in Our Shop.
Yes. We Do Charge a Very Reasonable Diagnostic Fee for All Equipment. The Diagnostic, Estimate Fee is to Cover the Expense of the Time the Mechanic Spends Diagnosing Equipment Failures, Disassembling Equipment as Needed. Time Spent Loading and Unloading Equipment. Electrical, Fuel, Mower Deck, Transmission Trouble Shooting. Time it Takes to Look Up Parts and Write an Estimate. Performing Compression and Leak Down Tests and Running Borescopes into Engines. Then there is the Cost of Service Personnel to call Customer with Estimates. If the Customer Decides to Repair the Equipment the Estimate Fee is Subtracted from the Cost of the Repair. If the Customer Declines the Repair the Estimate Fee is Non Refundable and you are given a Full Written Estimate. In Response to the comment on the rate being expensive. I assure you the Estimate Fee we charge doesn’t even come close in covering the cost of the labor involved in trouble shooting electrical equipment.
