Tried to go to this office today to help my uncle change his daughters social security card since she was adopted by him recently. I pulled up to the office to find out it is closed until further notice. Can you update your website and Google page to reflect these changes? Ridiculous. I should not have had to travel over 30 minutes to a location that is CLOSED. Absolutely ridiculous don’t come here. Posted 4/5/2022

I lost my social security card . how do I get a new one
The office is closed until further notice according to what i was told today when I showed up. Ridiculous, they should put that on their website or this Google page. Don’t waste your time trying to come here
They only asked me for my driver's license must be current

I went onto Social Security office website and was able to complete a pre-register. There is a question about where your child was born and steps to get a replacement in Alton. Good luck!
Closed until further notice. They should really update the website and Google page. I’m completely dissatisfied with their lack of care about things like this, I had to travel 30+ minutes to get there only to figure out it’s closed until further notice.

I would either call and make an appointment or its just as easy to file for Medicare online if your within 3 months of turning 65. Generally appointments or filing online is the preferred method and much easier.
