Been here twice. First time we waited 4+ hrs for poor care. An the second time was over 8 hrs. 7 of which we spent in the lobby. Only to receive more poor care. Place is a joke.

My husband was taken by ambulance for chest pain to he ER. He was triaged and given an EKG and placed in the waiting room! When we asked why he was in the waiting room the staff said “he needs a room with a monitor and we don’t have any available” so he’s bad enough to need a room with a monitor but it’s ok to put him in the waiting room without one! I must be missing something. Needless to say we left and went somewhere else…hell he wasn’t getting care anyway!

Staff is extremely rude every single time I've been there. There is very few nice staff, and they usually work pedes. The wait times are absolutely insane. No one who is struggling to breath should wait more than an hour, let alone 3 and half in the waiting room with no offer of a breathing treatment or help. Anytime you have a question for the staff working the front, you have to stand and wait until they decide to finish their conversations and giggles before they even look in your direction, and at that point they are extremely apathetic or annoyed you're even bothering them. I'm very sad and disappointed. I know hospital staff is swamped and tired, but that's not an excuse to be unkind to patients who are just trying to seek help.

Sometimes, depending, they may give him a free food ticket. If his food amount is over the allowed amount on ticket he will have to pay the extra cost
Your previous Dr. should be able to write a script.

Sue as the area's only Level 1 trauma center, there are times when our emergency room get's busy with life threatening injuries. With the Level 1 designation, we do not see patients as first come first serve. We do take critical case first as they come in. We are sorry you had to wait to be seen. Sometimes one of urgent care locations may be a better option. Here's a look at which one suits patients better. https://www.hurleymc.com/services/emergent/emergency-room-or-urgent-care/?fbclid=IwAR12LYrCdoApPv8hAn_zEGwY1eB9v1RU02Q8HerTlRdtCxsVXxQIW5rhYTk
This is from the hospital website: Hurley Medical Center would like to offer these guidelines for visiting a patient: To respect the privacy and comfort of patients in semi-private rooms, we suggest that no more than 2 guests are at the patient’s bedside at one time. The hours between 9pm and 7am are considered “quiet hours” for all units. Extended and overnight visits can be arranged with the patient’s assigned registered nurse. Care partners who anticipate arriving at the hospital after 11pm are asked to pre-arrange their visit with the nurse or to call the unit and speak with the nurse prior to coming to the hospital. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.
Problems with outgoing calls only. IT working on it. Incomings are good
