Medilodge of Capital area has been a huge blessing to our family. Our dad is in the dementia area which is quiet and has own staff and dining room. Any concerns about our loved one are handled quickly and professionally. They host family activity days such as picnics in a park and pet day. For the picnic the staff even transported a grill along with all the residents to a near by park, which took a lot of effort. There are other nursing homes closer to us, but we chose to keep him in Lansing because we knew he was loved and cared for well when we were not there.

I really enjoy working here at Medilodge of Capital Area. Great staff all the way around. You are treated like family. It makes my heart feel good to go in every morning and see the residents with smiles on their faces. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I really respect the way the administrator runs the building she is really on top of her job and any situation that may arise. Nice and clean facility and the food is very tasty.

THE WORST NURSING HOME MY HUSBAND, WHO IS A VIETNAM VETERAN HAS EVER EXPERIENCED. MY HUSBAND HAS DEMENTIA & PARKINSON’S DISEASE, WHICH INCLUDES THE INABILITY TO FEED OR CARE FOR HIMSELF. IN MAY, 2022, HE WAS PLACED AT THIS SO CALLED NURSING HOME BY THE VA, FOR TWO WEEKS. WHEN HE CAME HOME, HE HAD LOST IN EXCESS OF 10 POUNDS. IN ADDITION, HE WAS UNKEMT & HAD A STRONG SMELL OF URINE. THOUGH I PLACED HIS NAME IN ALL OF HIS CLOTHING, THEY MANAGED TO LOSE SEVERAL SWEATSHIRTS & SWEATPANTS, HIS BEANIE HAT & PAIRS OF SOCKS. THANK GOODNESS I TOOK PICTURES OF THE LOST ITEMS!!! A LETTER TO THE VA WAS SENT REGARDING THIS ENTIRE SITUATION! IT TOOK FROM MAY TO SEPTEMBER TO REPLACE HIS CLOTHING, HOWEVER, MOST OF THE REPLACEMENTS ARE THE WRONG SIZE. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE SINCE I MET WITH THEM & PROVIDED HIS SIZE & PICTURES OF THE MISSING CLOTHING. A VETERAN WHO SERVED HIS COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE. NEVER LOST WEIGHT FROM NOT BEING FED, ALTHOUGH IT WAS CLEARLY TOLD TO THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE (BY TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE)!!!

I’m currently a patient at Medilodge of Capital Area due to a broken leg, I was pleasantly surprised by the compassion I have been shown & seen other patients receive many nurses Paula, David, Amy, Audrey, Jen & Robert to name a few have been outstanding with their care they give, These people genuinely care about the comfort of the patients & I’ve never seen any staff short with anyone who maybe a little confused & they always make time for patients when they are needed. I’m so blessed to have been brought here for my care Thank You Medolodge

The facility has iPads for residents to face time with family member that are far away. Staff are happy to help facilitate whenever you are able. The residents love talking to their families and friends in whatever way they can.
