I don't know what the bad reviews are about. Common Ground was the only place that helped me figure out my medicine. Their urgent care staff are so so compassionate. I recommend common ground to many people.

If you are trying to admit to inpatient mental health by way of a standard hospital (i.e. Royal Oak Beaumont), expect to wait, STUCK ON A CERT, at least 5 days before Common Ground gets around to your file. AND if Common Ground hasn't sent you to an institution by Friday evening, YOU ARE IN FOR A LONG WEEKEND. Well deserved 1 star.

do not come here because uts a good chance they will keep you and not let you out for days .

Very compassionate and kind staff. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with everyone I’ve spoken with here. Huge shout out to Renee and all other awesome staff that are on-call 24/7 for crises.

Hi thatstacychick I noticed you have been very helpful answering questions for others about common ground. I have a few questions if you have the time and dont mind talking to me... I was planning on going their today or tomorrow
It's a great place to start. To get the conversation started, get education and guidance on what steps to take next.
Psychiatric institutions really are not a very beneficial entity, especially when it comes to those who are looking for legitimate decent care. Psychiatric hospitals are also normally only short term. It really should be looked at more like a prison for people that have sever mental illness and cannot function in most ways.
Yes
No, did you try to contact youth assistance? They should be able to direct you or help you.
You can't be forced there it's a voluntary program?
He can be assessed here. The Resource and crisis center is at 1200 N. Telegraph road 32 East Pontiac, Mi 48341
The sober support unit is a short term program. It's more or less a springboard to get into a rehab or it's 3/4 house depending on if you need detox or not. I most occasions clients will spend one to two days at the sober support unit then be put in a 3/4 house or at a inpatient rehab facility.
It's free to residents of oakland county who have medicaid or no insurance
They really do care and do the best they can
It's for mental health... what is it like do u share a room can u have your phone?
Thats far from the truth with common ground they try to make sure your as comfortable as possible now when it comes to having to wait on a bed it depends on insurance qualifications and availability within the hospital or if you qualify for there CRU program which is amazing the staff there a truly amazing CRU = Crises Residental Unit its a seven day program completely volunterely
You don't need a court order. Yes they help people with mental illness too.
Yes
Smokes, makeup, cell phone!! You're own clothes. They have laundry facilities. no shaving razors, scissors, curling irons, mouthwash with alcohol.
All visitors are searched and visitation is done in a supervised area
You should call if there arent any beds thet can answer any questions you may have and get you the help that you need
Downstairs in the CRU Treatment center you can smoke and use your phone. Upstairs in Oasis (where they have you if there are no beds downstairs, or you're not wanting (or not ready for) treatment) you can have your phone, but you can't smoke. Also they put a sticker over your camera for patient confidentiality.
I would recommend just going through the process without resistance , when one keeps fighting the problem gets larger.
No
You can get a referral to a rehabilitation center
Don't go to common ground. They do not help what so ever they turn the people away that actually need help. Go to st. Joes emergency room
