This has been the most interesting process I have ever experienced. We booked this place months ago (February) for a wedding. My Husband, booked the date of November 12th 2022 and placed a $1k deposit. Contract was given at this time. No other information included at that time (colors, food, etc.). 2 months passed, I attempted various times to get ahold of the coordinator/owner during the month of April. Finally got a hold of her through a FB message where she stated she was out of the country. Granted, there was no indication of this. No voicemail indicating she’d be out of the country, no social media posting, no email notification (I don’t think I ever received an email address I could reach her at), this was the first thing we were unsatisfied with. Next, we messaged via FB messenger, where we agreed on an April 21st meeting date to discuss the wedding color palette. My husband and I, drove the 30-40 minutes to melrose park, on this date, with our kids, only to have her not remember she had an appointment booked and being completely surprised. She proceeded to ask us, who we were, if we had a booked date, if we had booked the “big” room or the “little” room, etc. When we reminded her we booked the “big room”, and had set up an appointment to go over colors she proceeded to ask what color was my dress, I surprised said “white” (this is a wedding after all, right). Come to find out, she believed I was a quinceanera, this was odd as I am in my late 20’s and brought along our children. Next, she had her assistants bring me colors that were not what I had originally wanted nor what we discussed in our FB messages but I choose to settle for a coral like color. She made a note of it in our file once in her office. At this time I asked if I could put more money towards the total amount (approx. 13k not including the 1k down payment already placed). She proceeded to say, cash was preferable as a 5% charge would be charged/included if a credit card was used. LUCKILY, I did not have any cash on me. So we left. Total interaction/“meeting” time was less than 20 minutes. Months went by and we never choose our food type/menu (at this time she had bi-monthly food tastings in which you had to register to attend and this is when and where I am assuming you had to choose what food you wanted at your event. This is odd aa other banquet halls we toured and met with did not do this. I am not sure if she is still doing this). We never heard from her about this food tasting (in order to keep up with her tasting dates you basically had to follow them on social media to know what the dates were). Again more time passed and we didn’t hear anything from her or the hall it was to the point we felt uncomfortable booking any services (music, decoration, etc.) We needed up getting married on August 6th in a more intimate way. She finally reached out sometime mid-October via phone call. My husband was unable to fully take the call due to being at work. She called back but the call dropped again. Never heard from her again. Our supposed Wedding date is coming up, still have not heard from her. Nor that it is needed at this point. From other experiences with via friends and family weddings, coordinators reach out about 2-3 months prior and don’t forget about you.. Overall, this was a negative experience and during your wedding you want a banquet hall and/or coordinator who is involved, responsive, and trustworthy. That is something we feel we did not get. It is unfortunate as the venue itself is physically appealing once inside, and the overall price is not bad (family-style dinner). I truly hope you have a different experience.

I just got marries on 10.14.22 and if you are in the middle of looking for a beutiful and affordable hall with good food and great service not only with the head table but the guests as well La Orquidea Banquet hall is you place to be. Mayra put so much effort and love almost as if the event was for her own family. Everything came out beautiful and including my gueats were amazed as soon as they walked in they were mimd blown. I got married 10.14.22 and if you are looking for a nice place with good food and great service but not breaking the bank this place is the place to go. Mayra puts the best of her heart to arrange and the food to perfection almost as if it were her own family event. Everyone was amazed at the room, the food and the service.

We had such a wonderful time! Mayra was wonderful! The hall was decorated perfectly. All the colors and little details were just what we envisioned. The staff was great too! They made sure that everyone had what they needed. Checking on the guest just enough. And the guests loved the food!!! It was a great experience. Thank you to the Orquidea for making our night so great!
