Even though no one smoked in the room they charged us $250 plus the $194 room charge. Their customer service sucks. Seems that they are more into ripping people off than making money off of their rooms.

Nice hotel with a big free breakfast right off 95. Was a quick overnight stop but don't expect to sleep past 6:30 AM since it's so noisy in the halls around that time. But would stay here again.

Last minute 3-nt stay to visit with family in Newark. GREAT location. So easy to drive up Elkton Rd into the portion of Newark near the university. Right off the 95 corridor as well, and Cracker Barrel is right next door - because it's not a vacation if you don't stop at Cracker Barrel! The room was surprisingly spacious and clean. Nice little eating nook in the room. The staff was fabulous. The breakfast was hearty with multiple options. The corridors were quiet and my sleep was uninterrupted . Couple of notes: 1) While the tub/toilet is private, the sink/mirror area is open to the entire room. Some find that a plus, but if there are members in your party that want to sleep in through breakfast, it can be a con. I was in a room equipped for disabilities. 2) They sell quarts of ice cream in the lobby, but unfortunately the little room fridge will not keep these frozen in the freezer section. If you buy one, eat it all or you will have a MESS in your room fridge. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

During the height of the pandemic, when all were still encouraged to shelter in place and injustice towards others was more common than kindness, we encountered a place, in Elkton, Maryland, where kindness, customer service, and courtesy were in abundance! Mr. Patel and his team went out of their way, day after day, to find ways to ensure that we had the best experience during our stay. The hotel found ways to accommodate my husband, a disabled veteran, our 12-year-old black lab, as well as my need to work remotely. No request was too big or too small! During the height of the pandemic, the entire hotel remained spotless. We are frequent travelers, and this was the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. All eating areas, the elevators, the workout room, and the common areas were constantly wiped down and we always felt as though our health and safety was a top priority. No matter the hour, the staff was always pleasant and consistently went out of their way to meet our every need. Due to circumstances completely out of our control we ended up staying with Mr. Patel and his amazing team for 6 weeks and during that time we didn't have a single complaint! Thank you, Mr. Patel, Cheryl, Adam, and the rest of the team for making our unexpected stay such a positive experience. We would highly recommend the La Quinta to anyone needing a home away from home!
